Casino Strategy.

I don't believe any of us is going to be able to figure out current casino strategy with the economic and political changes going on from day to day. Maybe it just takes a little more cunning, manipulation, or effort to get wanted.

Example: Yesterday's mail saw an invite to "King of Cash" slot tourn. at Venetian. I never play in them, but it came with 3 free nights. I thought sure, I'll use that on one of my trips. I called, and was told I'd have to speak to a slot host--some gravelly-voiced lady. She told me my last 'visit' showed no play, and the one prior had only 4 minutes, so she couldn't book me in on a comp. After hanging up I immediately called casino mktg. again, got a different rep, and she happily booked me for the 3 comp nights--ignoring the optional note to contact a slot host.

Last weekend at Bellagio we went into the high-limit area, played $3000 (6 hands) on a $100 machine (with my card for the 1st time in nearly 2 years - quitting when ahead 5 credits), knowing I'd attract a slot host. Like flypaper in action one came out, and we chatted about my not being invited in any longer possibly because of my past restriction and cardless play. I left with a letter of LRFB invite for 2 nights. More than anything else, it was the simple $100 play that got to them. In other words, I made them want me--win or lose.
