I, too, like to play at Casino Royale. I've been staying at Harrahs and playing there for the last few years. My question is, how are the rooms at CR?
thanks

The rooms are just fine for the price, I had comps back in March. The
whole hotel is non-smoking, and the beds were comfortable. Bathrooms
were clean, and shower had good pressure. The windows opened all the
way too. My only complaint, which isn't much at all, the TV only got
about a dozen channels or so, and NO internet access. Again, if these
things don't matter to you, it is a great bargain.
And every room has a safe, refrigerator and coffee maker.

As of April 2008, my last visit, the McDonald's next door has AT&T wireless internet and very easily picked up at Casino Royale. If you have an AT&T DSL account, all you need to access the wireless is your email address and password. I always have comped rooms at CR when in Vegas, they are ok for me. I enjoy playing the 8-5 bonus VP during triple point times.

rooms at CR?...thanks....carole
REPLY: I describe them as very nice "motel" rooms. Fine for all
except those who need to bask in luxury.
Two notable positives: (1) in-room refrigerators for chilling beverages
and the second half of subway foot-long sandwiches, and (2) it's never
more than 100 steps from your room to the Strip or, in the other
direction, from your room to your parked car.
One notable negative: The TV channel selection is very limited. E.g.,
CNN Headline News is the only news channel. That was OK for tourists
back when CNN-HN really was a news channel; not OK now that it's 24
hours of Nancy Grace and Glen Beck. I intend to write them a letter
suggesting that they switch to the real CNN.

My first trip to Vegas in 2006, I stayed 2 nights at IP and 2 nights at CR. CR is WAY better than IP. Of course, IP is probably the biggest dump on the Strip. Best advantage at CR is location and ease of getting to and from the rooms.
