Casino Rama

In message #4, vp louie stated "their focus on the kind of VP games
has changed towards games that I'm not fussy about".

Not that it much matters, since we have to accept what's there now,
but I'm curious to know what they used to have before their focus
changed.

About a year ago, Rama had quite a number of GameMaker 25 cent VP
machines that they took out. They gave you a choice of several games
two of which were "6/5 Bonus" and "Same Four". Neither of these games
were anything to write home about except they were enjoyable to play
AND they cost $1.25 maximum coin which included a 4000 coin royal. At
their busier times all the machines were often occupied and you had
to wait for a free machine. These appeared to be the games of choice
of many of Rama's VP players and I certainly enjoyed them. I believe
these games had been there since at least 1998.

At this same time that the popular GameMakers disappeared, the newer
IGT machines that require a greater number of coins in order to reach
maximum (10 or 20 - I'm not sure which because I am not interested in
wagering that much)apppeared. These machines are the triple play that
are still there. While the pay tables for less than maximum coin are
better (ie 9/6 JoB), they require more coins for maximum 4000:5 Royal
Payout. I see many players playing short coins.

Pick-Em machies are available at the bar but their mechanisms fail to
accept bills and the casino says they are not fixing them. These
machines are 25 cent and they also have "same four". I do enjoy
playing these machines but I fear they will disappear also.

On the brighter side (for me at least)there are new $1 machines that
have appeared. These machines are the ones in the centre of the
casino -- beside the $1 Gamemakers that have "VP Let it Ride" with a
choice of some other VP games (6/5 JoB). While these $1 machines are
new for the casino, they are pretty old IGT machines BUT they have
decent paytables for Ontario: 9/7 DB; 7/5 Bonus; 8/6 DDB. These
machines pay an 800:1 Royal for only one coin (ie: dollar
denomination). I wonder why they put older machines in and I wonder
how long they will last?

Due to medical procedures I was unable to get to the casino from May
to October, and I only noticed these new/old machines in October. I
have enjoyed them on a couple of visits even though I haven't had a
winning visit--yet. Since my earlier post, I have gone to the casino
a couple of times; my free monthly hotel comp has reappeared; I now
enjoy it a little more; and, perhaps, Rama is "re-focussing" once
again.

The last time I looked these were short-pay (97% or so).

Are the Pick'em's full pay? If playing VP, does the bar require a
minimum drink purchase?

Are the Pick'em's full pay?

No - (RF = 10000, ST = 50, etc)

If playing VP, does the bar require a
minimum drink purchase?

No, but there's nothing at the bar that's playable.
