Yesterday, at Casino Rama, I saw yet another short coin dealt royal on
the triple/five play machines. This brings to three the total of such
events that I have personally seen - one does have to wonder how often
it happens.

Good Day Neil,
I have not had real access to a computer, but today I got lucky. Good to see you are keeping tabs back home. We will be back in a couple of weeks.
See you then, Colin

I've seen a bunch too. It makes me sick, and I can't get a full coin Royal there to save my life.
Regards

I've seen several myself.
Are we getting suspicious yet?

I've seen the same thing several times at Fort Erie.
I don't know if they are run by the Govt. or independent
I live in the states.
I had a long talk one night with one of the techs working on the
machine next to me. He told me that all the slots and VP $.25 and up
are set at 87 percent payout when they arrive at the casino. All $.5
machines are set at 97 percent. (slots and vp) He said the best bet
was to play nickels at full coin which on most machines is the same
as quarters. That was the last time I went into the place.
I'm sure someone is going to tell me he is wrong but looking back on
how horrible the machines played I had to be delusional to believe
they were random.

Not suspicious, I have seen a number of full coin Royals too. Frustrated though.

Frustrated though.
Even though I had been in a prolonged royal drought at Rama, (one royal
in the past 200,000 hands or so, and none in the past 120,000),I am not
suspicious about the machines. I did not mention in my previous post
that both my wife and I hit full pay royals (not dealt) on that day.
Since we started playing at Rama about three years ago, we have,
between the two of us, 31 royals, all full pay. It works out to one in
about every 38,000 hands, which is better than average.

Neil, were these all on the JB triple play machines?
When the $1 1-20 coin machines used to pay 800:1 for any short-coin RF, I hit 2 in one afternoon.
Since they were downgraded I don't find much that's playable. I'm not interested in playing for $20 a hand.

By my rough calculations I have hit one Royal at Rama in 250,000 hands. You can appreciate my aggravation.
Thankfully I hold my own in Las Vegas, but then again I play for higher stakes at Rama.

They still have the quarter version where you play 20 quarters for full pay. Not great but better than dollars if you don't have a mega bankroll. Best game on it is 9/7 db .

Yes, they have all been on the triple/five play machines, and all
except one (I think) have been on jacks or better. The one exception I
know of for sure was on super aces, which we sometimes dabble in for
variety. My wife had that one, and on the same day she hit the four
aces as well.

As Albert has already pointed out, you can play 9/7 double bonus poker
for 20 quarters a hand.
