casino queston

I'm trying to figure out the closest casino to Lisle..Joliet, Aurora or
Elgin?
I have driven to MS from Lisle ( I hate to pay to get into a casino, have
not been to an IL casino in a long time) but it takes a long time. Anyone have
any "shortcuts" to MS from Lisle? I live in the northern suburbs of Chi, so
any ideas to shorten the trip (I have to go to Lisle on a regular basis) are
greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DORI

Coincidentally I just gave someone who lives in Lisle a lift to MS on
Sunday. As my passenger lives off Maple close to I-355 it made sense
to take I-355 to I-88 downtown and then take I-94 to catch the Skyway
(I-90).

Thanks to Blagojevich's doubling of the tolls the Skyway is actually
cost competitive as its management company hasn't raised the rate from
$2.00. If for example you could pay 3 tolls on the tristate (I-294)
that would amount to $1.80 whereas the Skyway route would be $2.50
($.5 is from the Indiana end). To me the extra $.7 is worth it in
savings of distance and time. I'm assuming the person evaluating these
options is *not* an I-PASS owner. Also, these are the one-way numbers.

If you are an I-PASS user then your rates have not been doubled and a
route consisting of I-294 followed by I-80 to Cline might make sense
if you're not pressed for time. From Lisle you could either take I-88
to I-294 or take I-355 to I-55 to I-294.

Many of us are eagerly awaiting completion of the I-355 extension
which will add a segment from its present end at I-55 down to I-80.
This extension has already been approved. I heard a rumour that it
should be completed sometime in 2007.

As for the closest Illini casinos to Lisle that would be Hollywood,
Harrahs, Empress. Grand Victoria is quite a haul. Fee casinos are
against my religion and Illinois casinos have lousy vp anyway so I
never frequent these places.

admission to the empress is free on wednesday and sunday. also free to seniors daily in the mornings. they have some good games at the $1 level. a lot cleaner than MS. music is a little better. empress is closed between 5 am and 9 am.
