CASINO PERKS UPDATE

I still CP's from Feb. 2003, and plan on using them next week. What is the
status of the various coupons, i.e, ACW, ACE, Castaways, Hyatt, and Plaza?
I've heard there's been some cancellations/reinstatements.

HOCKEYSTL, are you out there?

The Hyatt pulled out several months ago, I believe in April or May. I
am not certain if they are still honoring the $50 MP's.

Castaways and Plaza were honoring the MP's without any problems that
I have heard of.

ACW/ACE have both stopped honoring the $25 MP's and replaced them
with these monstrosities : $20 'Alternate Play', pays 3 to 2, coupon
not valid until 3rd $20 bet AND you must play then only on table #18
(no I'm not kidding, those are the requirements.)

Terribles are being honored without a problem.

Castaways, ACW/ACE, and Hyatt all require you to go to the slot club
(and join if you are not a member) and have your coupons validated.
The process at ACW/ACE is further compounded by the fact that you
must first go to the pit to exchange your old MP's for the new AP's.

IMO, unless you already plan to go to the majority of the places
offering Perks coupons, the program isn't much of a 'Perk' anymore.
Now, it's more of a Pain.

Any coupon you have purchased (if it's not expired)
must be redeemed by the casino. This is a gaming
regulation. You may have to call Gaming and they will
send an agent to the casino immediately. Gaming
agents are empowered to issue citations. These lead
to fines, which are more than the value of the coupon.

This is the first time I've heard this. So the 'Management reserves
all rights' clause does not apply to purchased coupons?

Do you happen to know where this is covered in NV Gaming statutes?

This would be good info to reference in the future should this
problem arise.

BTW, another person I sold books to had a run-in at the Hyatt a few
months ago when they refused to honor his coupons because he was a NV
resident. He called Gaming on the spot and a Gaming agent actually
showed up and took his complaint. The casino ended up allowing him to
play his $50 MP's.
