Thanks for those comments.
I walked to the Casino Nova Scotia this morning. Yes, Halifax is beautiful,
even in the rain. The boardwalk has lots of quaint restaurants, shops and a
museum or two. Of course, everything has a maritime theme, this being a
Maritime Province. And, there is a lot of "Anne of Green Gables" stuff
everywhere as well.
The casino seemed to have been a pleasant enough place, but I wonder if the
few VP machines that I found there are truly VP, but may be rather VLT's. I
don't know. I found only about 10 or so machines in the whole place that
appeared to be VP (Multi-Game Game Kings, if I remember correctly). I did
record some of the pay tables. There is "anti-gaming" literature on a number
of tables in the casino, preaching to the evils of slots and VLT's.
The Bonus Poker was 1,1,3,5,8,10,25,40,80,50,250.
The Deuces Wild was 1,2,2,3,4,10,15,25,200.250
The Jacks or Better was 6,5 with a 50,000 coin sequential royal.
There was also a Sequential Royal DDB and a "plain" JW. I did not bother to
record those pay tables.
All, of course, have the "5-coin" 4,000 coin Royal.
I also noticed that the 3-card poker payed:
1 ro 1
4 t0 1
6 to 1
25 to 1
40 to 1.
.....bl
I was there last year and do not recall seeing any playable VP whatsoever.
Casino however
is pleasant enough if one wants to indulge in some "fun" play. However
Canadian Casino
holds are notoriously high so beware of any serious gaming. Casinos in
Canada are
government run and answerable to no one which means if they can't screw
it out of you
