Casino Niagara Update

Hi,
We're thinking of taking a trip this summer to Niagara Falls and I'm trying
to understand what is the relationship between the Casino that is already there
and the new one.
What is their proximity to each other?
The reservations listed for a suite, dinner, fallsview, cb, 2nts $300 Cdn, is
that the old or new hotel?
Is the Casino in the hotel?
Is the new one opening in June?
Do they both have Falls views?
Are they both Cdn and run by the Cdn gov't so that the new Casino is likely
to have the same crappie VP as the old one?
Is it kid friendly? Kids quest etc...
Do they have hosts? Did you contact a host to make the reservations listed?
Does it make sense to contact a host?
Any info on either the new old is appreciated. When did the casino that is
there open?
Thanks
Joel

Thanks so much for the great info. The non smoking floor sounds great.
I'll hope to be able to get on one of those .50 pick'em machines.

We were able to get a good rate by calling direct and was quoted a 2-night
special rate of $313 Canadian for a king Jacuzzi suite fallsview room for 2
nights including dinner for 2 at Terrapin Grille &buffet breakfast both
mornings.

Yah, the shuttle is your best option even if you want to just visit
the falls. You can take the shuttle for free while if you want to
park at the Falls you have to pay. We often take the shuttle to
casino and don't even go in but head to Clifton Hill or the Falls.

The shuttle lot is at the corner of Stanley and route 420. If you
cross over at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls you just need to
drive five minutes on route 420 and make a left on Stanley.

There are really few playable video poker games there. 7/5 JOB and
9/6 DDB, Colorado deuces and $5 8/5 JOB. The video poker is so bad
that I find I do better on slots there. I often see people winning
jackpots on slots. For instance I won $250 on slots a couple of
months ago waiting for the .25 cent pick'em to open up. The black
is often at high minimums as well but I love the fact that they have
a large non smoking floor.

But try those .50 cent pick'em games. They are busy but they are a
good bet. Also if you book your hotel through the casino you get
$10 free each day of your stay.

The new and old casinos are part of the Ontario lottery system. The
new casino has a hotel but the old one does not. I don't know of any
hosts and the old casino does not allow kids anywhere on the
property. You have to be 18 to even ride the shuttle bus.

At one time Casino Niagara had pick'em, NSUD, and 9/7 DB. The NSUD
and 9/7 DB have been removed but I bet the new casino opening in June
might have some good games to compete with new Indian casinos in NY.

Personally I trust the Canadian Government more than the Indian
tribes. If you know anything about Canada you know the whole country
is regulated to no end. Look at how cheap their drugs are.

Is the Casino in the hotel?

We are staying at The Marriott in Ontario which overlooks the Falls. There
is no casino in this hotel, but there is a shuttle which goes over to the
casino. I called the hotel directly and she said they had a 2 night special
- $329.95 for the 2 nights for a king jacuzzi rm overlooking the falls,
including dinner & buffet breakfast both mornings.

I forgot to say that's $329.95 CND which she told me would be about $213 US,
or if we paid in cash she said they would use a 55% exchange rate.
