I watched a movie dealing with Indian casinos yesterday, called 49
Palms. Complete trash. It had virtually nothing to do with Indian
casino gaming. The "Indians" were smoking peace pipes, in full
costume, while doing a war dance around their victims. Meanwhile
strippers in beaded Indian costumes danced nearby, in front of the
slot players. The chief hired a hit man to kill an undercover FBI
guy. The casino surveillance included the womens/mens restroom
stalls. The casino itself looked like an auto repair garage from the
outside. And I've mentioned only a few of the "mistakes". I can
only imagine what impression this makes on citizens in another state,
or abroad. Thankfully, I don't think many people will ever see this
movie.

there is surveillance in there, there is surveillance everywhere
remember that young girl that was raped and murdered a few years back
in a casino stall? prime evidence was the videotape, stills of which
were released to the media
as i said before, there are cameras everywhere, but security will
only release them for major crimes, like murder, because otherwise it
would reveal their security layout
i know people who got their cars broken into in casino parking
garages yet security refused to handover any surveillance tape, ditto
for coin bucket thefts and purse thefts and machine malfunctions

There are no cameras IN the bathrooms in the casinos in Las Vegas. The
surveillance footage for Primm was at the entrances to the bathrooms.

Unless Nevada law is pretty darn strange, there is a little thing called a subpoena; very easy to get, and the casinos would need to comply unless they could convince a judge to quash the subpoena.
A couple of years ago someone damaged our van in the Walmart parking lot which is monitored by video cameras. Fortunately someone saw it happen, copied the license plate of the responsible party, and left a note on our vehicle. I tracked the guilty party down with the license number and made phone contact with her, but she denied responsibility. I asked folks at Walmart if I could watch the tape; they refused. Within a couple of hours I had filed a lawsuit, obtained a subpoena compelling the Walmart manager to come to my office for a deposition and to bring the tape with him, and after I served him with it, he quickly arranged to have a copy of the tape made for me so that he wouldn't need to bother coming to my office. Then, with the tape which clearly showed that the defendant was responsible, I later used it to settle the matter out of court for full compensation of damages. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be the same in Nevada with the casinos, and if a player doesn't know who the actual responsible party is, s/he can file suit against an unknown defendant ("John Doe"), or even file suit against the casino itself for negligence, and then obtain a subpoena that way. I mention this just in case someone out there needs to know sometime, and if it's a substantial loss you should check with a lawyer in Nevada.

casinos have their own regulations, or lack of in the case of indian
gaming
casinos can exclude anyone for any reason at all, they are in effect
private clubs not open to the public, often times even the sidewalk
is private
if you are 86'd and show up again, they can have you jailed for
trespass
i don't think walmart can exclude anyone, they are open to the public
of course, once you sue a casino, it goes without saying that you
won't be invited back
i've never heard of anyone getting anywhere by sueing or threatening
to sue a casino, your only real recourse is the gaming control board
and they are only interested in possible gaming violations
