Got an invite to a meet-and-greet for Lake Las Vegas homeowners on Friday night, hosted by the new Casino Manager, Christopher Eissler.
He spent most of his time fielding inane questions from folks hoping that the specials at their Coffee Shop would return (they won't). However, I gleaned a few nuggets, FWIW:
He was formerly the Manager of the former casino at the former Hyatt Regency (now Loews) across the Lake. Not good news, that casino was worthless.
He plans to team up with the adjacent Viera Condos to offer comped rooms. Good news for condo owners and visiting players alike, as Casino Montelago has no hotel of its own.
He plans to convert the Lounge area to a High Roller pit. Smart move IMHO. Casino Montelago has always suffered from its low-roller targeted inventory located in the wealthiest patch of Clark County.
The coffee shop will be converted to a Northern Italian themed restaurant. They will add an Italian Deli.
One resident complained of being "no-mailed" for no good reason except that he had gotten some royals. Christopher's question: "Are you a pro?". The gentlemen said that he was the "furtherest thing from a pro".
Chris said he would look into it. I take Chris's pro paranoia as a bad omen.
He said that they were going to replace the bulk of the "aging" slot and video poker machines. I take this as another bad omen. I decided to refrain from inquiring as to the fate of their numerous 100%+ pay schedules.
