Casino Monte Lago used to be a top 5 play 2 yrs ago. When they
1st opened 3yrs ago, they had fpdw in evrey machine with frequent
2&3x pt days. I was able to play 2 machines at once and did quite
well. Then about a year ago they (for what insane reason I dont
know!) ran 5x pt days! By far one of the best quarter plays in vp
history as that added a full percent and a quarter to fpdw&fpjw!
In addition to this, any high denom. 8/5 bonus poker (including
2$ 10play & spin poker) presented a 150$+/hr. oppotunity. Evrey
big bankroll pro and semi pro quickly destroyed that as virtually
evreyone on this site hammered away on the jokers and ducks!
Needless to say CML took a beating the so called slot-promotional
people didnt see coming. They promptly took severve action.
Within 3 weeks multi-pt promos were virtually elimininated, fpdw
were downgraded on 95% of the machines, mailers were slashed
and/or completly eliminated, multi-line games are now xcempt from
multi-pt offers, evrey muli-denom upright with fpdw&fpjw had its
deal speed slowed to a crawl(ala Sams Town) and slot floor staff
(especially supervisors) are watching suspected advantage players
like SS officers! On one occasion, I was rudely told by a slot
floor supervisor 'we(CML)are tired of people like you making a
living here and thus no speeding up of machines'! Needless to say
Ive never been back and thats a shame casue it is a truly
comfortable place and the courtyard with the shoppes is rather
beautiful. In short if your cup of tea is a really long drive to
get to a few full pay ducks at ultra slow speed with no food/room
comps, then this is your place!

Well Dan, you have perfectly described why I don't go to MonteLago
anymore, not that I really miss the 58 mile round trip from
Summerlin. I was quite content with the 2X days and I am only a
quarter player. The cafe used to have a great Chicken Fettucine dish
for $4.99.
Now the latest mailer had four Blackjack match plays (does their
marketing dept expect to convert VP players?). Another coupon was
buy an entree; get the second at 1/2 price. Basically worthless to
the solo diner.
But I shall miss Melinda and Sherry; my favorite waitresses at CML.
