Casino Monitor Program

I hope you can find monitors to keep it going! If I lived in Vegas,
I'd volunteer..

You don't have to live in Las Vegas to be the monitor for a LV
casino. From the Casino Monitor web page:

"If you can send an email, know how to copy and paste, and visit
your adopted casino at least once a year (the more often you visit,
the better), then you're qualified to be its Casino Monitor."

i'm curious approximately how many hours per week are needed to
update the casino pages...

I probably average over 20 hours a week doing DataBase updates.

It would take a whole lot less time if all updates were based on my
personal observations, or if reports that I receive were clearer, and/or
I was familiar with the physical layout of all casinos. A Casino
Monitor won't have to deal with these problems in most instances.

it just seems it is one thing to report a change in a casino you
frequent and another to actually have the knowledge to inventory the
whole casino accurately...

Both tasks are similar, and I believe that most serious video poker
players can handle either or both.

It would be a shame to not have them updated. Ever think of
switching to a pay subscription? That way monitors could be
compensated. Is there anyone here who wouldn't pay $20 a month?
I'm pretty new but would have no problem with something like that.

I don't think compensation would be a meaningful factor in
finding volunteers to be Casino Monitors. It certainly wouldn't
affect my decision to get out of the DataBase updating business.

In any event, vpFREE has always been, and will always be, FREE.

well how about setting up a standard form to report casino inventory
changes and require the format be used and e-mailed...if the changes
for lv could be handled in a few hours a week i would probably be
willing to take over the task...individual monitors on only some
casinos and possibly only once a year will leave the database a
whole lot less usefull imo...
