Effective immediately, a Casino Monitor's role in keeping the
DataBase current and active is changed back to being a "reporter"
rather than a "maintainer" of DataBase files.
The experiment with having monitors do the actual html work in
the updating process hasn't worked out too well, and required
more time and effort from vpFae than when he did everything
himself.
Here's the new Casino Monitor FAQ entry:
"54. What is a Casino Monitor? - A Casino Monitor is a
volunteer who periodically (at least once a year) checks and
updates a casino's best video poker games. Comments about the
casino regarding rooms, comps, restaurants, mailers, slot club,
etc., are also encouraged. Casino Monitor update reports should
be posted on vpFREE or sent to vpFae who will post the report
anonymously, if desired.
A Casino Monitor is needed for any casino that has "Need
Volunteer" in the "Casino Monitor" column on its "Index +
Summary" DataBase page. If there is a "Yes" in this column, the
casino already has a Casino Monitor."
Many thanks to all of our Casino Monitor volunteers. This change
should make their job easier.
