Casino mailings for locals

As Gak already said, getting the locals mailers would
probably be worth your while. In my case, bounceback cash
is almost always worth more to me than the theoretical
return on the games I play.

To get an idea of the bounceback cash available to Las
Vegas locals, take a look at the vpFREE locals info.
It mainly details information known about bounceback cash
at several of the major locals casinos.

I have heard that Coast casinos will give you their locals
mailer even though you still have an out-of-state address.
You must ask for it at each slot club near the beginning of
the month. And of course you must have played in the
appropriate time period. For example, your coin-in there in
February will qualify you for the April mailer.

Do LV casinos mail out the offers for BB$, etc., just to
locals? I am
wondering, as I may be spending a lot of time in LV in
the next few
months (probably at least until the end of the year) on
business. I
will probably be there 3-4 days a week, 3-4 weeks each
month.

Will regular action qualify me, even tho I have an
out-of-state
address registered with the various players clubs?

Would it be worthwhile to get a local mailbox, just to
have a local address for those casinos?

Does anyone use a Mail Box etc box to get the local mailings or
establish residency in Las Vegas for tax purpose. For example, I
currently live in a taxable state and would like to establish
residency in Vegas to get the local mailings and escape state income
taxes. Would this even be legal?

If anyone has done research or has experience in this sort of thing I
would appreciate it.

I just read something last week that indicated you must get a Nevada
driver's license within one month of becoming a resident. I doubt
this is enforced to any extent but it would make it more difficualt
to just get a mailbox.

I know a lot of people who do this to get local-only bounceback mailings. They are those who are in Vegas often enough to collect most of their bounceback in the specified times.

It takes more than a local box to establish residence in Nevada. If you have a house or a job or vote in another state, you will be a resident of that state, even if you have a box address in Nevada.

Now for retired people, there are options. Some have a house/condo in two states - and they sometimes can structure their life to choose one state or another. I'm not sure if it has to be the place where you spend the majority of your time - probably so. If it is kind of a 50/50 deal, here are some things that might determine this issue: where you are registered to vote, where you license your vehicle and/or have a driver's license, where you file your federal income taxes, etc.

We had this decision to make when we still had a place in IN as well as one here in Vegas. We chose NV as soon as we could because of the state tax situation. I fiddled around and kept my IN license for as long as I could - until it expired - but I never had trouble establishing myself as a Vegas local with casinos. I just said we had homes in both places. Casinos do not look at this as an unusual situation no matter what state license you have. Scads of people have a Vegas address and one in another state.

When we first moved here we looked into getting a PO Box. The post
office didn't require a Nevada License to open the box, but you did
need to show proof of a local address such as a gas or electric bill
in your name with your local address. Life is just a puzzle and you
only need to put the pieces together to get what you want....
