The most important # is missing from your reply. The ID#.

However, Robert's reply did include a phone number, which I am betting
could be used to contact the casino, and probably specifically their
accounting department.

Why cannot someone just answer the question. I can call the shoe, but I
assumed accounting is only open during business hours. Thus, I wrongly
thought it would be so much easier to just get the number from someone on
this board. But, apparently no one here has ever received a W2G from the
shoe in Tunica.

So..........we should take the time to phone them ourselves and then post it for you...or better yet...take more than a little time to dig through our W2-Gs from past years and then post the number for you. Okie-dokie.

I did not ask anyone to do anything except post a frickin ID #. What is so
hard for all of you who have replied to understand.
I will take time out of my business day to call the shoe since no one on
this board has a W2G sitting on their desks waiting to be used for 2009 tax
year.
I would like to thank all for being so helpful. Hope to return the favor
some day. Yea, right.

Do you really think we have their ID number memorized? You are asking us to call or look it up for you. I think you need a check-up from the neck-up.

While I think it was perfectly reasonable for you to have asked your original question here in order to save yourself a call to the casino, I don't see why it's so hard for you to understand that people who didn't have a complete answer nevertheless thought a partial answer might be helpful in leading you to a full answer, so they took time out of *their* day to provide one.
You *could* have said, "Thanks, I was hoping someone would have a W2G handy with the actual ID number, but if no one can find one, I guess I'll just call the casino on Monday." Instead you complained petulantly that no one had spoonfed you what you were looking for. Do you find that approach often works?
Fortunately, someone does seem to have eventually replied with the ID you wanted, but I find myself kinda hoping they gave you a fake number.

Amen!!!
Had this guy just placed a call it would have taken but a small fraction of the time he spent on berating people that were trying to be helpful. He has, however, provided us with a textbook-worthy example of chutzpah!!

Saying please and/or thank you on an internet message board is not a requirement. Simply demanding information should be sufficient these days. Didn't you get the memo?

If the stackman received a fake number ,how will he explain this at the
audit?

The amusing part is that after you go to all the trouble to find the tax ID
number and enter it into TurboTax, you'll discover that the information
isn't even needed to file your tax return (assuming you had no Federal tax
withheld on that jackpot).

Ok, this has gotten hot for what seems to be no reason.
When he made the request, it's not unreasonable to assume that you work on
your computer at a desk or in your home office - which might be where you
keep your well documented sessions and your G-2s -- especially so close to
tax time.
I don't have Tunica's number, but I DO have some others and could have
easily answered the question and would have had I had the location he was
looking for.
I'm curious if there's might be a meditation/yoga class for video poker
players, everyone seems to need to take a collective deep breath.
Thank you Elizabeth. Finally a voice of reason and understanding. Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You perfectly nailed the thought behind my original request. Perhaps, I should not have reacted to Robert's "Thanks Google" snipe. But I did. This then became a thread of sarcasm instead of help. I'm sorry I took the bait.
To whoever it was who said the Fed ID is not necessary, You must have a different version of TT. My original return was rejected because of a WRONG Fed ID number. Before I asked the question on here or TT Questions, I electronically sent the return with a bogus ID (12-3456789). It was rejected.
To the person who gave me the bogus number (3578-1245), karma is real.
For anyone interested, Horseshoe Tunica's Federal ID # is 64-0840031.
