Advantage player of not, we are ALL gamblers. Gamblers will lose
more money than they win over time. A computer can play "perfect"
strategy and win over a lifetime if the game has a positive expected
return. THERE ARE NO PERFECT PLAYERS. Humans ALL make mistakes. If
the best game you offer is Full Pay Deuces Wild (100.76%) at the
quarter, single line level, you are NOT going to lose a dime. Even
the EXTREMELY RARE advantage player, who plays nearly perfect and
doesn't risk another penny on other gaming opportunities, will make
only about $7 bucks an hour pounding away full time at FPDW. Your
bartender spills ten times that amount of money every hour.
Here's another news flash. Advantage players are GAMBLERS first and
foremost. Except for the one player in ten million or more (keno
odds), players will gamble on something else in your casino and you

Of course, all of us tell people that we only play full pay games and
win. Have you ever met anyone who tells you they play a lot
and lose? Everyone who goes to Las Vegas talks about winning, not
losing. And you "suits" love it when they do! Players are not
supplementing their retirement playing FPVP. Here's a little
secret. Players don't want to face the truth. They don't want to
know how much they lose, so they simply pretend to win. We are being
entertained and enjoy a hobby at a very reasonable cost. You aren't
making much money off of us but you are making money from us. In
fact, the vast majority of VP players lose money playing full pay
games. The vast majority of players participate in other gaming
opportunities, which provide a higher return to the casino. You
(casinos) can and do take that money to the bank every day.
In Las Vegas you have something called competition, which does not
exist, in other venues. Vegas casinos can't seem to perfect the art
of collusion that goes on in Atlantic City, Tunica, Biloxi and
Bossier City. Therefore, if you offer ONLY house advantage games, you
are going to lose players, both visitors and locals to those places
that have better games in their inventory. This situation is going
to get worse for you as time goes on. The media, computers and the
Internet in particular, are making ALL players, including visitors,
more informed about gaming percentages.
In conclusion, there are some who constantly preach that casino
executives read VP newsgroups and we must be careful what we say
about advantage players and positive return games. I say hogwash.
We all lose. Some of us simply lose at a much slower pace. In
the long run we all lose more than we win. And while it's true that
casino "suits" monitor these sites, so do thousands of players who
stay away from venues that give the player a ZERO "chance to win".
In these difficult economic times, you "suits" need to rethink your
business plan if you want to see more green and less red in your
bottom line.
