I'm just wondering...
If I established credit with a casino (so I was able to get a
"Marker") do you all think it would allow me better comps?
I'm not saying like FREE ROOMS, but I mean like, heavily discounted
rooms on mailers...I currently get good rates...but I'm thinking if I
had credit with them, they would give me a little more...
What say all you big players?
Casino Credit (Marker) = Better Comps?
I doubt that it helps from a long term perspective. They are always
going to look at your play in the long run and run their formulas
based off of coin-in, theos, etc.
For an initial visit it may help. If you have no standing at a
casino, and you get a hold of a host and tell him you're going to play
$50K over the weekend, opening a marker for $10K may provide the added
emphasis that you are good to your word. However, at the end of the
trip, they still are going to look at your coin-in and evaluate the
comp level based on the level of play.
For me, it's always been more of a convenience thing. Having to go to
the bank and withdraw/deposit cash everytime I take a trip is a
hassle...not to mention the questions (form if it's over $10K) if
you're up big for a trip and come waltzing in with your original stake
plus the winnings.

Wow, I guess I should just be happy with the offers I get, considering
I only play about $500 Coin-In per weekend.
And for marker's..I was meaning take out a $500 marker per weekend I'm
there...guess I'll just stick to being the low rollin' whale.

So you are saying on a weekend trip you play 400 hands of video poker at the quarter level for the entire weekend? And you still get comps from this?

Somewhere around there, yeah...I don't play fast, probably average
aroudn 2 hands per minute...maybe less, because I go up with two other
people and we basically take turns playing and watching what each
other gets.
I get mailers...while not free rooms...I'd say $40 for a weekend night
at the BigBox's are pretty good for the amount of my play...
I usually never play max bet of $1.25..but I did this weekend and got
my TWO royals...
