T minus 36 days and counting until my wife and I celebrate? another
milestone birthday in LV. We are staying at Orleans and will have
wheels. We are already members of many slot clubs.
Spent most of birthday last year at Nevada Palace and had fun but
didn't hit any VP special pays. Had numerous 2-1 BJ's which helped
protect the bank account, free drinks and meals, but I did feel
somewhat conspicuous carrying my promo coffee mug and balloon around
all day.
Any ideas of other birthday specials that might be worth squeezing
into day 1 of our trip. We are decent low-roller basic strategy BJ
and VP players and usually make at least the birthday trip to LV
annually. Still looking for a natural royal after at least 20 trips.
Sadly enough, the attainment of one natural royal (that gets paid
4000+ coins of the denomination being played) has become my gambling
life's goal. It seems like I usually get my royals while practicing
WinPoker in the days before our departure.
I probably play 4 or 5 hours per day of VP on various machines,
quarters, halves, and dollars depending on bankroll, 400 to 500 hands
per hour with 95%+ correct play. I also play $5 BJ and craps for the
balance of my gambling activity. My wife is a great $100 per day $5
BJ grinder and enjoys that all by itself.
When we are not winning at a particular casino, we tend to jump in
the car and go elsewhere to start again.
BTW -- she does not appreciate it when I, minding my own business at
a bar top VP machine, am approached by "working girls." I thought
the strip properties would highly discourage them but not last year
at one location in particular. The bartenders seemed to know them
well.
Speaking of bartenders I was amazed at the number of $12 beers they
were selling in goofy promotional cups.
