cashing out versus playing credits comp theory??

I was wondering if there is any difference in the comps that register
to your card while you are playing VP if you play your credits or cash
out and put in new money and save the ticket for later. I've heard some
people say that if you have like $ 24.00 in credits you should cash out
and put in a new $ 20.00 and cash your tickets later. They said it
builds up your comps faster because the machine registers you gambling
more new money . Same theory as sinking chips at a table game and
having the dealer see you " buy in " for another hundred. Do your comps
build up faster on VP playing credits or doing new money ???

  No. Period. I have seen people cash coins, cash tickets, stuff 'em all back in, put them in another machine to consolidate smaller tickets, put them in upside down, stand on one foot while cashing out - whatever.....the random generator that determines your next hand just keep spinning until you push "deal" again. It doesn't know what you had for breakfast, where you live, of what kind of aftershave you are wearing - it just deals the cards and the comp points accrue based on how fast you can push that button.

  I do find it amusing to watch someone do what you describe though. Get a bunch of tickets, change 'em, start all over. The machine will run out of paper at some point........

  In my pick 'em days at the LVH there was a guy who sat and chain smoked and cashed quarters at the sports book bar. He would get over the magic $20 mark and cash, again and again. Take the quarters up, change 'em, and repeat. Of course the machine would need several fills a day, but it didn't deter him from his system. Several of us wanted to strangle the moron though............(-;

  Relax, play the game, the computers will be none the wiser - or dumber.

Maybe folks get confused with the term "coin in". In reality, it
really means coin PLAYED. Actually, these days, it means paper player,
but I get off topic.

I wonder if these same people think they could stick $100 bills in,
play once, then do it again. And again. And pretty soon look like a
high roller.
