As I explain in "More Frugal Gambling," it is getting even more complex,
with some casinos, i.e., Harrah's in Vegas, giving cashback but you have to
return at a later date to collect it. So there is now same-day cashback and
pick-up-later cashback plus bounce back.>>>
No matter what Harrahs calls it, if I have to pick it up at some future
time, I list it in my diary as bounceback.
Also $5 of bounceback is worth less than $5 of cashback. Cashback can be
collected today & normally has no expiration date (or 12 months max on it).
Bounceback has a short expiration date thus it's subject to breakage. Cashback's
present value is close to 100% whereas bounceback must be discounted using
your breakage ratio & the time period you normally take to collect.
