Cashback and Comps Question

Hi all - new here and looking for some help

We are heading out to Vegas on Sunday. We head out every summer from
the UK for a 4 week holiday, we rent a house and live the Vegas life
for 4 weeks - great!

This year we are looking to play VP more than we usually have. We'll
be playing quarters, mainly JOB and FPDW.

My questions are mainly surrounding cashback and comps. I've been
checking some of the places we'll be playing but am a little confused
as to what exactly I can claim or how we can get the best offers.
We've traditionally not got great offers through the mail as we live
in the UK and can't claim bounceback offers and the like but we do
have a US mailbox. However we did get better offers when we spent
short holidays in Vegas, as it seems if we play less intensely over a
long period we drop off the mailing lists.

Looking at a couple in particular. The Four Queens. This offers just
over 0.3% cashback and approx 1% in earned comps (based on your
figures). Can I claim both? If I claim cashback will any points I
have be redeemed or would I be better off trying to cash them in for
comps of some kind? Does 'earned comps' refer to future mail offers?

Also theres Terribles - we received their latest mag in the mail
today. They have Free Gas (no point redemption), Free cigarettes (no
point redemption) and Double cashback offers all on right now. If I
earned say 5000 points one day (a lot I know  ) could I claim all
of these?

Any help you can give me would greatly help us plan our play and trip.

Thanks

Claire

Hi Claire--My limited experience with the 4Q is that you can earn
both comps and cashback. Best to ask a host if you can have a meal
comp after playing if not staying there: otherwise, charge to the
room and ask before checkout. I don't believe the booth offers
comps. Magnolia's often has good specials for player's card
holders. I've never actually seen a live host in 4Q, but I've
spoken to them on the phone. Yes, your points will vanish as you
collect cashback. They also have stuff available you can "buy" with
your points if you like logo shirts, etc.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Terrible's. Hope you have a
great trip, and good luck!

Drew

I have a few questions about people's experience with comps at Station
Casinos, and Red Rock in particular.

I've played enough at Station Casinos in general to get to their Platinum
level--107K points during the last 90 days. Probably about 2/3 of my play
is at Red Rock, with the majority of the remainder at Texas Station. And
much to the disdain of several here, I split my play between VP that's + & -
100%.

1. How do I get connected with a casino host at Red Rock and/or Texas?

2. Do you think I'll be able to get any food comps? If so, what is
reasonable to expect or ask for? I already get lots of dining offers in
their monthly mailers, usually for 2-for-1 buffets, but I'm looking for
comps/credits towards some of the other restaurants, especially at Red Rock.

3. Platinum benefits say something vague about "Free Invitation"
concert/show tickets. How do I go about getting these? Should I just ask a
host re: free tickets to any show I might want to see? Or do I receive
offers in the mail to specific events?

4. How do I get access to Platinum parking?

5. With the Boarding Pass program being universal across multiple
properties, am I hurting any comp opportunities by splitting my play between
Red Rock and Texas Station? Should I always go to one or the other??

Thanks!!

After doing the $100 rebate program at AZ Charlie's, I'm curious...are there
any similarly juicy signup promos out there?

I've recently read that Stratosphere has a good one, but there are next to
no details given about what you get for signing up. Anyone have more info?

On a side note, does anyone know with the AZ Charlie's $100 rebate program,
since the $100 of free play they give you downloads to the machines, is
there anything to prevent you from loosing $100, getting the $100 free play,
downloading it to a machine, and then just hitting the cash out button and
walking away--or doing the same with any free slot play for that matter?

1. How do I get connected with a casino host at Red
Rock and/or Texas?

I sent an email to one from the VPFree links to casino
hosts. The host I sent the email to wasnt taking on
new players, but they passed it on to the host that
was and he emailed me back (very timely I might add).

Yes, food comps are possible. I have only asked once
for a discretionary comp and was given a $100 comp on
about 90K points in 90 days.

I am sure you can ask. I get a postcard every month
or so for a concert.

4. How do I get access to Platinum parking?

You have to ask for the VIP parking card from the slot
club. They check your play and if you are 75K plus
for whatever period they are looking at, they give it
to you. It is good at all Stations (as far as I
know).

I havent experienced any drawback to playing at
multiple properites, but by that same token 90% of my
play is at my primary casino.

At 4Q you get both cash back and comps separately, as well as a lot of
offers in the mail. If you're not staying there, just go the casino
host booth or call a host on the casino phone. If you've been playing
you'll get your meal comped at Magnolia's. I always get my cash but
you can get other items with your points if you prefer.

Free play at any casino (in Las Vegas, anyway) must be played through 1
time. You will not be able to cash it out without playing.

No.

Earned Comps are comps that are generated from normal VP play in
accordance with the individual casino's established rules. They
can usually be obtained from the Player's Club, or by swiping
your card at a point of usage, such as a food outlet or gift
shop. However, at 4 Queens I think you have to go through a host
to get all/any comps.
