There was a slight change at the Cash Bash Weekend at
Bally's/Paris this weekend. In the past we have always received the cash
voucher at check-in to be redeemed at the cage anytime during the
weekend. I checked into Bally's about midnight Friday. At check-in I
received a letter stating I could only receive my cash voucher Friday
afternoon (now a little late for that) or Saturday from 10AM until 8PM
and ONLY AFTER 4 HOURS OF RATED PLAY. When I got to my room there was an
operator message with the same info. I can understand why they might
make such a stipulation, but it seemed unreasonable in two respects.
First they did not state the 4 hours of rated play terms in the offer
letter and second why have voucher pick-up times Friday afternoon when
you can't receive the money until you have played 4 hours AND checked
into your room. Why not have the voucher pickup time Saturday all day
and Sunday AM before checkout? I posed this question to a suit at
voucher distribution who told me, "We don't NEED slot play after Saturday
at 8 PM!" O.K. (I think the real reason is either a) most employees
want Sunday mornings off or b) they want you to give the money back
before you leave.) Vouchers must be cashed before Saturday midnight.
BTW the rated play requirement has been stated on Flamingo offers for
some time so it's probably just a new Caesar's Entertainment thing. Free
rides in Las Vegas just keep getting more and more expensive!
