It's not just Greektown that is not cultivating video poker players.
Look at MGM Detroit. Tons of nice, new HD machines with 97% games on them. Video Poker is fun but not at $30/hour, if played well. It's probably closer to $50/hour. That is way too much to pay for the privilege of playing.
MGM-Mirage in Las Vegas hates video poker players. There are very few places that are impressed with $10K/day on video poker any more.
My play has decreased dramatically at Greektown, partly for the above reasons and partly because the poker room, even with their hefty rake, is a better opportunity.
I think the business model is flawed but you still see people playing 8/5 Triple Double for big money so what do I know?
I pick March 24th for the next vp free meet.? 6:30 at the $ progressive bar and dinner at 7.? Let me know if you can make it.
