Cards unhold themselves upon redealing. Does it happen?

We stay often at the Four Queens but I hate playing their VP machines,
mostly because of the buttons. They are of the type that you can press and
if you don't hit it just right, nothing happens. And sometimes they unhold
themselves.

For some reason this particular button style just doesn't work well. And
sometimes the buttons, particularly the deal button, gets so you have to
press it multiple times to get it to work.

Just an example, and after I lost a couple of hands one morning, I called
the techs, who called the bigwhig floor guys. They had me test the buttons
and of course they worked perfectly right then. Just like the toothache that
disappears as soon as you go to the tooth mechanic. They wouldn't pay me
for a lost hand btw, and really didn't care about making me happy.

It seems to be in the rhythm of play that these buttons are flaky.

But the point of my post is this.

Buried in the gaming regulations is a requirement that casinos maintain
gambling devices in good working order. And in my view, a button that does
not work properly each and every time, or unholds itself, doesn't meet this
requirement.

Couldn't this regulation be used to require that these machines be better
maintained?

BTW, when the deal button is really bad and you raise a complaint, they will
change it for a new one. I've done this at Four Queens.

I wonder if this happens more often, or only, to players who pound or slap
the buttons. This might vibrate a faulty hold button along with the slap of
the deal button. Another reason to not pound the buttons besides wearing
them out in the first place and annoying other players.

I've found this is frequently an angle thing. If
your finger presses the button straight down (as
you're likely to do when focused, say at the start
of your session or when a suit is looking over your
shoulder) all is well, but once you're in a rythm
if your finger hits the button at an angle it tends
to stick. Of course spilled beer, ashes, funk and
time tend to exacerbate the problem.
