I agree. Mine dropped considerably so book and then check back. Easy to cancel and then rebook.

A suggestion for future trips, book your rental car as soon as you know that you are going to go, then check the prices once a week, and modify your reservation whenever the price drops.
Using this process I have a car booked for October with a base rate of $85 per week.
