-a short walk out left of rental center, gets you to the Duece $2
if you do not wish to go to airport after car drop off. also 33 bus
goes to south bus center
Duece is a quick ride north till tropicana ave - then usual crawl up
the strip.
Just returned from a long weekend in Vegas. The car rental was
very easy.
There were many buses lined up outside the baggage claim area, in
the same
spot as the private buses used to pick up. These are full size
buses and hold
a good amount of people. You are dropped off at the same place as
everyone
else in front of the new facility. Everyone enters through the
same doors.
The rental companies are lined up along the walls.
We used Avis. We used the online contract system - called
Preferred.
Approaching the Avis counter area, we see a big board displaying
all expected
renters by last name and where you should go. Ours said Preferred
and we went
out to the counter. The agent needed to check our credit card
info since it
was our first time at Avis. Other renters had numbers listed next
to their
names, giving a car "location". They were able to simply walk out
to that
particular parking space and take their car. We will be able to
do this next
time, but going into the office to do the credit card check didn't
take more than
one minute.
It is nice to get into a car that has been sitting in the shady
garage.
Return was painless as each company has a return area of their
own. They
still come to your car with the handheld receipt unit and give you
a copy.
Buses were lined up waiting for everyone when we exited the
facility. The
ride to and from was not too far. Certainly not as close as the
way it used
to be. We'll get used to it.
