I was at the Cannery for the first time. They have a good
promotion going
on - get 800 points, get a nice jacket - plus you keep the
points. We also
did well with the "card of the day" promotion - get an extra 100
coins if you
get a quad in a select digit. We also used our Las Vegas Advisor
coin bonus
coupon (50 coins for a quad). It took probably less than 1 hour
to get 800
points. They have FP DB and Deuces quarter machines.
Yeah, I remember going in there and playing .25 10/7 DB, and the COD
was 8's, and I hit quad 8's and sat back and waited for someone to
come pay me my $25.....A slot floorperson came up to me and
regretfully informed me that the Card of the Day didn't count on
fullpay machines, such as the 10/7 DB I was playing.
I'm sure that that exception was written in 4-point type on the very
nottom of the slot club flyer explaining the promotion (which thay
were out of when I subsequently asked), but somehow I was unaware of
it. I wondered aloud why they couldn't put a little placard on the
fullpay machines that said "This machine ineligible for COD
promotion".
I asked the slot tech how many people try to claim the COD bonus,
get told that their machine "doesn't count", and walk out seething?
He said, "At least two or three a day."
So let's calculate: the casino saves $50-%75 a day with this policy
and alienates two or three customers, who, like me, may never
voluntarily set foot in this place again.
