Cannery

I was at the Cannery for the first time. They have a good promotion going
on - get 800 points, get a nice jacket - plus you keep the points. We also
did well with the "card of the day" promotion - get an extra 100 coins if you
get a quad in a select digit. We also used our Las Vegas Advisor coin bonus
coupon (50 coins for a quad). It took probably less than 1 hour to get 800
points. They have FP DB and Deuces quarter machines.

Yeah, I remember going in there and playing .25 10/7 DB, and the COD
was 8's, and I hit quad 8's and sat back and waited for someone to
come pay me my $25.....A slot floorperson came up to me and
regretfully informed me that the Card of the Day didn't count on
fullpay machines, such as the 10/7 DB I was playing.

I'm sure that that exception was written in 4-point type on the very
nottom of the slot club flyer explaining the promotion (which thay
were out of when I subsequently asked), but somehow I was unaware of
it. I wondered aloud why they couldn't put a little placard on the
fullpay machines that said "This machine ineligible for COD
promotion".

I asked the slot tech how many people try to claim the COD bonus,
get told that their machine "doesn't count", and walk out seething?
He said, "At least two or three a day."

So let's calculate: the casino saves $50-%75 a day with this policy
and alienates two or three customers, who, like me, may never
voluntarily set foot in this place again.

<<They have FP DB and Deuces quarter machines.>> You must watch for little signs on FP machines - they are exempted from promos. No 5X points on them on 5X point days (M, Tues, and Thurs. this month). I'm not sure if you can collect COD bonus on them or not.

I can't find my chart for the changes you make switching from FPDW to NSUDs and I need it fast and my brain is slow. Is it in the database of one of these sites? I thought it was but I can't find it.

I was playing FPDW at the Cannery on my first and only visit last
year and hit four aces which was the card of the day. They refused
to pay me the bonus because it was a full pay machine. I haven't
had the desire to go back there since.

I've never had any problem collecting the card of the day bonus on
  FPDW at the Cannery.

Visited Cannery for the first time this current trip, played $1 BP for
5x points and to maximize 50 coin coupon in American Casino Guide. Its
like 50 free dollars. Similar coupon for Ramparts, but could play NSU
deuces.

The jackets you can earn are very nice - suede-like and lined - a couple of colors. However, with both of these casinos you must read promo rules carefully. For example, this month at the Cannery you can earn jackets by accruing 800 points (which you keep - in other words you don't have to "redeem" them to get jacket). You must get all of the points in one day and get the jacket the same day. And this is only on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday through Dec. 22.

Same rules for Rampart except the days you can earn jackets - for 750 points - are only Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, again only through 22 and only from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

There is usually some logo item to earn every month at both of these places, usually the same item, but the rules and points vary from month to month. The free logo items are almost always on non-bonus days so you can't double-dip! Free bonus days vary from month to month. Rampart gives only 2x points, but their base points are .25% and they usually have only 2 bonus days per week. Cannery gives 5X points but their base points are .1667 and they usually have 3 bonus days per week.

As per my usual luck, I have never hit the COD at the Cannery but my
understanding is that the rules were changed sometime this past year to
now include ALL machines, whereas in the past, as some have reported, it
did NOT include the FP machines.

Also, The Cannery is hosting a Blood Drive today, Sunday, December 12
until 6 pm. Donors get 2 free buffet comps, bonus points and a t-shirt.

Regards,

Scot

Rampart includes Sundays for the jackets.

Just two weeks ago, I was able to use both the 50 coin bonus coupon and get
paid for the COD, playing FPDW. When I was there yesterday, I found out
that you can no longer use the coupon or get paid for the COD if you are
playing full pay machines. The 8/5 bonus machines are eligible.

The COD will now always be 2's-10's. They used to also include face cards,
but found out too many people were hitting the COD, due to many more face
card holds.

Judy

Could be. All I know is I have always been paid for the FPDW COD
bonus. Last one was probably about a month ago. The full pay
machines are excluded from the 5X point days. Seems like we are
getting a lot of stories on this one.

Sounds like one of those "depends who's on duty the day you visit" kind of
things. You sure we're not talking about Harrah's here?

Anyway, I was thinking of visiting the Cannery later this month and using my
ACG coupon. Assuming the offer is not valid for full pay games, anyone know
what the best game IS the coupon can be used with? I don't suppose they
have any 9/7 DB or 99.1% Bonus Poker or anything like that?

I've never had any problem collecting the card of the day bonus on
  FPDW at the Cannery.

This was a recent change in policy (within the last two weeks) regarding the
COD & 50 coin bonus coupon.

They do have several 8/5 bonus machines scattered about the casino, some
stand alone and some in multi-game. I am not sure if they have NSUD. The
only non full pay deuces I have seen were ugly ducks.
