Interestingly, I was recently discussing with my wife which casino we would select if we
could chose only one. We both settled on the Rampart. It is connected to a beautiful J. W.
Marriott hotel and resort and, as noted, the video poker inventory is stronger than most.
The staff is friendly and the nightly piano bar performers can be heard just about
anywhere in the casino.
We travel from Virginia, so the hotel is important to us. Each Rampart room is large, plush,
and equipped with a whirlpool tub and a "rainforest" shower. We generally have to pay the
casino rate but consider half-off a good value. Getting away from the Strip also has its
advantages, especially since Summerlin is an exceptionally nice community.
I would say that the casino caters more to locals than out-of-towners so a car rental is
usually necessary. The only real competitor for "best overall casino experience" for us
would be Harrah's in Lake Tahoe, but the gaming there falls far short of the Rampart.

Hi all
There is not a lot of mention of these two places. Are the hotels with
them are any good. The data base seems to reflect reasonable games and
some cb. Is there not a lot of talk about these places because they
are so far out. However, lot of people like Red rock. I believe it's
not real far from Rampart. Also, are these big places or smaller
hotels? What do they compare to; Orleans, Santa fe or more like Casino
Royale?
Just wondering...
