I was wondering if anyone knew what the payback is on Ontario slots. Vegas is anywehre
from 88% to 100% and I was told that in Quebec it is a measly 56%. I can'rt seem to find
out that info anywhere and when I ask at the Canadian casinos the answers I get are
invariably vague.

Mo,
The Ontario government, at present, does not give out payback
percentages. So, you'll just have to play, say 5 or 10 million times
or so on your favorite $5 slot machine, to get a "rough " idea what
their paybacks are. But you can get the exact percentage of payback
if you play only video poker. Just write down the pay schedules and
run a check through a software program such as Win Poker, Frugal
Poker, or Tom Ski's VPSM.
There's a nice article (although a little dated) on Canadian
casinos at www.casinoplayer.com/archive/9910cp/html/canada.html that
should be helpfull.

Thank you so much for the info. No wonder the answers I get are always so vague!

Quebec casino slot returns are published in "Casino Player"
and "Strictly Slots" magazines. The paybacks are in the low 90%
range, about the same as Atlantic City.
The AGCO in Ontario does not disclose slot payback percentages. The
minimum payback required by law is 85%. However, slot machine
manufacturers don't make machines that pay back less than 85%!
I hope this helps.
