Which is the best game to play for return ?

9/6 JB 50 to 1 point ratio

8/5 BP 25 to 1 point ratio

9/6 DDB 10 to 1 point ratio

Knowing only the given information, you can determine which is the best game if you knew what percentage the point redemption yields. For example,
BP is better than JB when
99.17 + 2x > 99.54 + x, or when x > 0.37%.
Similarly, DDB is better than JB when
98.98 + 5x > 99.54 + x, or when x > 0.14%,
and DDB is better than BP when
98.98 + 5x > 99.17 + 2x, or when x > 0.063%.
So…what percent cash back do you get?

If x is the percentage payback you get for your points, then BP is better than JB when

99.17 + 2x > 99.54 + x, or when x > 0.37%.

Similarly, DDB is better than JB when x > 0.14% and DDB is better than BP when x > 0.063%.

I don’t understand all vp get the same amount of points for dollar in, except some places where the EV is 100% or over?

Therefore with these games JOB should be the most efficient?

No true at Harrahs AC If not posted it is 10 to 1 otherwise it can be 25 or 50 to one if posted.

You might want to take a look at the vpfree2 data base. In Atlantic City, the four Caesars properties have different coin-in requirements for different machines based on game and/or denomination.

I believe the original poster’s question is based on the Caesars properties in Atlantic City.

Even if so, you need a lot more information to decide which game to play. At Caesars, different games have different “theoreticals.” Your mailers are based on the theoretical earned — not on how many points you’ve accumulated. How many points you’ve earned affects your tier status, but not your rewards.

a far better question is: for $10,000 coin-in (or any other fixed amount), what is my expected loss and what kind of offers can I expect to get. This requires you to keep meticulous records — and also realize that it’s forever going to be a moving target that you’re trying to zero in on. But at least this gives you better insight than just “how much does it cost to earn one point?”

Bob

Thanks.

I agree with Bob’s answer but I would say that the “fixed amount” is the points required to get just the diamond card for the year, since this gets you into the diamond lounge and other perks. So the question to ask is: “what is the cheapest way to get just a diamond card at Harrahs?” This is different than say: “How do I win the most money at Harrahs?” or “How do I get the best mailers from Harrahs?” Another question to ask is at what Harrahs? I would suggest that the answer to that question is AC, which may also have the best diamond lounge, but good luck trying to get there this weekend.

On 10x days, x=1%.
