i have used the harrahs website to book rooms since the site opened.i
usually get a max of 5 nights in one hotel however i was always able to
overlap nights to extend my trip up to 8-9 nights.i usually overlap one
night between hotels because usually they wont let me check in til
after 3 or room is not available.ive done this for over a yr. i have a
trip coming up at end of march and was called from harrahs internet
auditor that they cant give me all these nights because offer is just
for 5 nights. i told her i must have qualified for nights because i
have confirmed reservations and i wasnt using any offer just filling
in dates on website. she said it doesnt matter and made me change my
reservation including paying 70 dollars for one night.she said this is
their policy. i asked to talk to her supervisor and she told me i ll
try to get someone to return your call in next few days.
am i wrong or casino? i have confirmed reservations and in
addition they previously downgraded the rooms i had.i told her this and
she said they can also change this at their descretion.im not a hugh
player but am at diamond level with over 22000 tier credits last yr and
6200 so far this yr. .i play video poker exclusively at quarter and
dollar level.
id like peoples opinion on this thank you
call from harrahs internet auditor to reduce my room comps
Harrah's has been cracking down on double bookings since last Fall.

Here are my thoughts ...
at the level of diamond with only 22000 points in a year all on video
poker, I'm surprised that they are offering 4 nights in a row as full
comps. The EV on Video Poker is not that high, at least compared to
their slot players. It's giving up anywhere from 5 to 7 %.
When I was traveling as a diamond, they usually offered me 3 nights.
Even as 7 Stars, I rarely ask for more than 4, though it's an
entirely different world and they are much more flexible. (I stayed
for 6 my last trip) then again, it's way over 100,000 tier points for
last year and most NOT on video poker (the odds are so bad here that
I don't give up all that much to play slots, I know sick. but I still
profit on slots somehow...)
I believe, on the other hand, that if they make the reservation they
should abide by the number of room nights at that location .. they DO
have the right to adjust the level of room at any time .. technically
they can ask you to move after you've already been there a night. The
legalities are all in favor of the casino. I'd expect that the more
nights you wanted, for a given point level and EV, that "Quality" of
the room would go down.
As someone told me in this forum lately, I'm not even a "big fish"
much less a "whale" and I should appreciate what i get. I do think
that more than 3 nights at the diamond level is asking for a lot.
I'm sorry that this is probably NOT what you wanted to hear.

One more thought ... if you really want teh most from Harrah's, do NOT
book online, call or email your host at your local Harrah's
establishment. They will get you the best deal, every time.
If you do not have confidence in your host, ask for a new one.
