Calculating adt

Not sure if this has been answered before. How do you calculate adt or other theo;s that the casino might be using to calculate cash back? especially since it can be diff for every machine or bank of machines.or games without suffering brutal losses in the process?

Most places I played when I was in Nevada the comp and cashback meters for machine play ran at a steady rate. Some places would just tell you something like "cashback is .25% and comp is .25%" while others would just tell you what your balance was but nothing else (we called this "don't ask, won't tell").

The Peppermill casinos in Wendover were a case in point. No cashback there just comp dollars. It can take several attempts to get it figured out exactly. At first it was easy, I ran $1000 in action then went to the booth and asked them how many comp dollars I had, $5 they said. I did this a few times and it was easy to figure that the comp meter was running at .5%. Then when I hit a certain card level I had two comp dollar accounts. It took a lot of running certain amounts of action and going back to the booths asking how many comp dollars I had to figure out that the regular comp dollar account was running at .45% and the Passport Points account was running at .35% for a total of .8%.

I made a mistake in the first post. "Don't ask, won't tell" was when they wouldn't tell you how fast the meter ran or what your balance was, just if you had enough comp dollars to cover the cost of whatever comp you wanted." But if you start at the beginning of that system it's not hard to figure out.

What about cash back or bounce back cash ? what i am trying to do is figure out how much action it takes to increase this.so lets say i have 75.00 in bounce back would this increase if i were to play 8/5 jacks or better vs 9/6 jacks or better?.since the bounce back cash isnt revealed till the next month i cant check it right away.but if i were to play 8\5 for a month at the dollar or higher level that would seriously damage my bankroll without knowing how much i am going to get to cover my losses..

thanks for your help.

To determine your mailers, some casinos use ADT and have the theo set differently on each machine. Other places don't care about theo and only look at coin in (either the total over a period of time, or a daily average). Some places factor actual win/loss into the equation. It can take months of trial and error to figure out the formula, and once you think you've figured it out, they might change it.
