I was watching A&E -they re-ran it last night (Tues 1/11).
I think you got the old guy's $1M slot hit correct - $500 coin
machine, 2-coin max, three different colored 7's paid off 1000-1.
The Host set him up in the Presidential Suite - he & his wife sure
looked and acted out-of-place. I'd have to say it WAS big deal, even
for a high-roller, altho' I bet that guy pumped $20K-$50K per hour
into that slot before and after he hit it.
Interesting that Caesar's gave the TV show producers a piece of
the "eye in the sky" security tape, (B&W and grainy) to show the
million buck payoff come in. We've heard they won't even help a crime
victim and local law enfoircement out with security tape footage
unless the casino senses some casino liability -or- they get
subpoenaed.
Now, the video poker hit I tried to figure out was his $75K payout:
I know he hit a dealt quad 7's on a triple play. I didn't see the
denom, nor the game/paytable, but there aren't that many different
quad payoffs unless it was a wild card game (I'm guessing UN-
likely). Anyhow, my GUESS is $100 coin, 5 cred bet, Dbl Dbl bonus
paying 50-1 for these quads on triple play. That would be 100 x 5 X
50 X 3 = 75K.
Also, on that $75K quad hand, I'm pretty sure he only held the four
sevens, when he shoulda held all 5. (The subtle ultra-rare chance
that another 7 comes up invalidating the payoff that Dancer (or is it
Paymar) pointed out..)
Something to look for or freeze-frame if anyone tapes the show if any
of you see a re-run of this first episode...see if the fifth card got
held, or if it's different on each line.
ALso - no tax withholding on the $1Mil payoff? I guess if you are
diagnosed terminally ill, you don't sweat the IRS.
I'm not sure why you were talking about a 3200-1 VP payoff: Royals
pay 800-1, (or 940-1 or, rarely, 1000-1) and of course progressives
can pay more. But for a $4000 payoff you talked about (was this a
scene I missed on the show?? -OR- were you using this to compare to
the slot 1000-1 payoff??), on a Royal -that would be $1 coin times 5
creds. I doubt a .25 Royal, even on a Progressive, would ever get to
$4000, unless it was for some exotic payoff for a sequential Royal
for instance.
Yeah, they followed some sleazy, skanky people. Even so, I bet we all
will keep watching it. Maybe not for the plot-lines, maybe we're
hypnotized by the slot chimes and views in the background, just like
when we are there in person.

It's really not that much in the scheme of things. A one million
dollar payoff on a $1,000 bet is only 1,000 to 1 with max bet.
When playing 25 cent video poker, a $4,000 payoff is for a $1.25
bet and that is 3,200 to 1 with max bet. Am a
seeing this right? Wasn't that a $500 machine with a 2 coin max?
