Part of me also wonders whether a recently published article by a
known VP authority outing the fact some of the 9-6 multilines had 4%
theo (as opposed to their standard 1.5% theo, without going into a
detailed analysis, the 4% theo machines are worth about .4% more to a
skilled player). There was no reason to out the play (I read the
article in my CP room recently and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw
it), I have no clue what the author was thinking. Well, I do, but I'll
keep that thought private for now.

You used the past tense--"some of the 9-6 multilines had"--does this mean they no longer have 4% theo?

Also, did somebody give you the theo or did you extrapolate using the coin-in with the awarded comps?

Thanks for such informative posts! Linda

Hey Linda, as always, thanks for the love.

It's one of those "open secret" things. It's not my information to
disclose why, I have written about theo previously on my site, but
other pros are aware. You can refer to the article, and I think it's
self explanatory.

Regarding writing, I really enjoy it, but I have had a series of very
strong plays in different parts of the country, as well as some
business commitments on both coasts.

I'm considering writing about this, but it may take a while, for both
the article, and to cool off. There is an unwritten rule amongst
professionals that we don't out plays, we don't out players. The
outing of this play was either cutting edge stupid, or malicious, and
that's all I'm going to say for now.

I'm really big on after-the-fact case studies, because at that point,
everyone can see all the cards on the table, so to speak. This
situation may provoke another study.
