Just received a call from a friend who was walking Caesars. She
advised that all of the previously payable 9/6 JoB has been shorted.
The STP doesn't have JoB on the machine at all. The upright $1/$2/$5
multi-lines outside of the cigar shop are now 8/6. She will continue
to search based on the locations from this site but it appears that
the axe has finally fallen at Caesars.
I'm happy to be incorrect about this as I'm there next week trying to
get my final $55K coin in to be 7 Star.
Caesars Wholesale Shorts VP
Thank you so much Dan, and Shargoy on previous message. The wife and I
are currently scheduled for a 4-day beginning 11/20.
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. This
information is clearly a trip breaker. We'll go to plan B if it turns
out the axe has truly fallen.
Can't give enough love to vpFREE.

Out of curiosity, what is plan "B?" My bride and I have never played
enough at strip casinos to earn the shopping sprees, air fare, and
other perks that I read about so often.
We are low rollers and stay off strip we pay for air fare, rental car,
some costs for room, and no drinks or meals. We are headed toward LV
on the 18th, probably will not visit the strip, and the trip's success
will depend on luck.
My bride plays $5 blackjack exclusively.
I play VP, BJ, and craps. (as a flea)
We have a lot of fun at minimal risk. When I read about needing 60K
coin-in to achieve anything, the ROR is much higher on that type of
bet than we are willing to undertake.
I understand that the issue is a "matter of scale." If you play the
same games for the higher denomination bets, the outcome should be a
multipler of the bet level plus the luck factor.
We are not trying to leave LV with more than we bring. Rather, we are
trying to minimize our trip expense, fully realizing that we have to
fight for every $.25 or every $5 bet we make.
We do not take many breaks from playing, aside from eating and
sleeping, and an occasional show if it is priced right or somehow comped.
Sorry to read RaisingA's post and respond in this manner. I was
curious about plan "B" and couldn't resist all the rest.
Looking forward to a great trip in T minus 8 days,
Tom and Deb

Sad to hear, but to be frank, CP was always on my "B" list of plays
since the takeover. Great rooms and service, though. I'm going to miss
them a little.
Part of me wonders if this will last long. All the MGM Mirage
properties, save for MDB, offer 9-6 Jacks, with, frankly, a much
better program than any of the Vegas HET properties. Wynn offers 9-6
Jacks. I can't see CP's numbers falling, or them getting some peer
pressure to reinstate the games. HET's Vegas strategy is "captive
market", but I think they're going to regret this decision.
Part of me also wonders whether a recently published article by a
known VP authority outing the fact some of the 9-6 multilines had 4%
theo (as opposed to their standard 1.5% theo, without going into a
detailed analysis, the 4% theo machines are worth about .4% more to a
skilled player). There was no reason to out the play (I read the
article in my CP room recently and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw
it), I have no clue what the author was thinking. Well, I do, but I'll
keep that thought private for now. I mean, you think HET, which is a
major advertiser to the publication in question, isn't going to react?
Sorry for being cryptic. Our current Plan "B" be can be summed up in
one word: Palms.
Generally speaking, plan B is derived from the primary directive for
all VP enthusiasts: If the pay table is short, you must abort.

My Wife and I loved going to Caesars. However, we won't play bad
games so tt sure will be missed. I have been "priming the pump" since
Harrahs took over for a replacement. We are basically triple line
quarter players or 50c single line. Some of the plan B I see:
NY, NY $1 Jacks is a bit steep
Palms Mailers are not good for 25c/50c out of towners
Venetian $1 Jacks is a bit steep
Barbary Just been purchased by Harrahs (damn!)
Wynn Probably best option, but a lot of action needed for comps
GVR Terrible comps for out of towners, long way from strip
Red Rock Terrible comps for out of towners, long way from strip
Did I miss anything?
We will still play downtown (MSS is great) but we also want an "fancy"
place on or near the strip. I guess we will give Wynn $20K a day and
see if we can get some room action.
Cheers

All? Only if you're talking $5 and up.
