Caesars Vegas

I had called up a host at Caesars Vegas for a 2-night mid-week stay
(for last Weds/Thurs). I'd never stayed there, but had put in a few
hours at 5-play quarter Super Times Play over a couple sessions in
past months. Host offered me $99/night, which I assume is a standard
promo rate that most anyone could get with a little play, or an
internet offer.

I played 3 games:

(1) $1 NSUD (3 slat-tops in a row in what I think they call the
Palace casino, the area that David's genitals are pointing to). Comfy
& reasonably fast machines, good drink service, even got me a fine
green tea with honey when I asked. There was a 4th $1 NSUD very
close. The machines were always free. No Royals or Deuces, but
several wild royals & quints. -$230

(2) Quarter STP, FP JOB, played mostly 5-play. At least one of the 2
was open whenever I wanted. At 9:30 Thurs night, both were open for
my friend & I to play. Best hand I recall was 4x quads for $125. +$130

(3) Quarter 5-play Multi-strike, FP JOB. I played 5-coins, 4-levels,
2-play (with a quick shot at 3-play). Both the machines were always
open. Best hands were drawing to a pair at the top level & getting
quads, & drawing to an inside straight flush (I wasn't even sure
whether it was better than the 2-cd royal, but I couldn't resist) &
hitting it on the 3rd level, both $250. -$60

Room was great, view of the Eiffel Tower, jacuzzi in bathroom. Quick
swim in the pools just for the experience, very nice. I miss a
buffet, but that food mart thing they've got has great choices, not
too expensive, & allowed take-out.

I'd been at Ballys Atlantic City before flying x-country on Weds, &
the comps from there didn't show up at Caesars Vegas. I went to the
booth, & she said that my accounts were already connected, nothing
more she could do. Went to the host, who said he couldn't do
anything, that I should go to the booth. Went to the booth a 2nd
time, different person, she immediately phoned Ballys, got my comp
account from there, & transfered it to Vegas Caesars.

The 3 games I played seemed to accummulate cash & comps at roughly
the same rate. Best estimate: I was putting through a little over
$4K/hour, for $8+ in cash (.22%) and $22+ in comps (.55%).

These days, I'm not pushing myself with long playing sessions, or
late into the night. Especially since I'm relatively new to dollar-
level play. I got in 9 or 10 hours over the almost 2 days. It was
enough to cover the cost of the room, great deal. A few comps left
over from previous trip, plus the Ballys transfer, covered all meals
(4 of them) from the food mart.

Down around $160 from play, up $80+ in cashback. Went over to Ballys
afterwards for 5-play quarter NSUD & won $335 in 30-40 mins, hitting
2 quad deuces. Enough comps left for friend & I to do the Paris
buffet, which I can't praise enough.

One side note from Ballys A.C. I went to collect a windbreaker that
I'd earned in my day of play. The booth person asked L or XL. Maybe I
lack a knowledge of fashion, but I assumed that "large" can fit
differently for different products. So I got an XL, removed from
package to try it on, & it was too big. Took it back to exchange, &
she said that they're not supposed to take it back once package is
opened. But before I could initiate an argument over the relativity
of the concept of "size," she relented.

-Hey Stuart: Great report on Ceasars... I like their sports bar
and want to establish a presence at their casino so I read your
report with interest. I am a quarter player and am soon to make the
jump to dollars once my play improves a bit and I get in practice.
I also commend a fellow Stuart for posting as I am beachstu...Greg
Stuart so at least now there will be confusion on this board over
the stuarts and not the spelling of my last name as I always
encounter. Did you have to request the jacuzzi room? And I am
trying to remember where those NSUD are you played..maybe I was
distracted and missed them...haha.
Stuart if you have time, give me your opinion on the Stardust
and plays there.
And finally congrats to Jean Scott... she got my vote.
Lets get some Royals... Stu

I didn't play at the Sports Book bar... but I'm pretty sure I saw
that they had bartop JOB in quarters, 50-cent, or dollars. So that's
a great option for gradually moving up to higher play.

Did you have to request the jacuzzi room?

I made no special request, & am by no means a high roller by Caesars
standards. I was just there on an ordinary promo of $99/night. So I
was surprised that the room was so nice. Maybe even their bottom of
the line rooms have jacuzzis??

The jacuzzi is in the bathroom (along with a double-sink, toilet
room, & regular stall shower). It's a normal-sized bathtub with 4
jets that shoot out at you when you press a button. That's all...
but it's a nice way to relax after a hard day of big risks.

Never been to the Stardust. I've played at MSS & Fremont downtown,
then wanted to move up in the world. So I've been staying at the LV
Hilton, with their wonderful bartop Pickem & generous mailed offers.
Now people say that Hilton will be reducing its comps, so I tried
Caesars this time (& because I like the multi-play multi-strike, the
Super Times Pay, etc), & it worked out well. Since they're
corporately connected to Ballys/Paris, & I put in a few hours play at
the Ballys NSUD, I'm also getting offers of free rooms from
Ballys/Paris now.

It sounds like what you had was a Palace Tower room, Stuart. In Caesars
Land all towers are not equal. At least until their new tower (opening this
month?) opens for business, the Palace Tower rooms are the better rooms at
Caesars by most peoples estimation and, if you are a paying customer, they
often cost extra to reserve. Jetted tub among other amenities are standard
in this room. With the addition of the new tower these rooms may become
more available in the future.
