Caesar's "My Poker"

I just got an email from Total Rewards with a section about their new
"My Poker" games.

Based on the description, does anyone actually expect them to actually
have full pay machines or is this one of those games that will adjust
based on the player?

"Enjoy your favorite classic poker games with all the familiar game play
and pay tables, plus a whole new level of personalization and comfort!
Now available to play for fun on the Caesars website and will soon be at
a Total Rewards Casino near you!"

No, this isn't a machine with dynamic paytables based on player id.

Can only cite that NOLA pulled out a bank of older IGT $1/$2/$5 9/6 Jacks and has now installed the WMS machines with "My Poker". The JB paytables are 8/6/275(sf).

Admittedly, the machines are very comfortable (not that I've spent more than 5 seconds at one).

Oops. I just read it a little more closely. I misread the "familiar game play and pay tables" part. In my head, I repeated "favorite".

I saw new machines in the process of installation this Tuesday at Bally's and Showboat roped off. As they were in the poker area I would guess those are the ones.

They are being installed at Caesars AC near the Diamond lounge on the second floor.

8/6/275 jacks would be an improvement over the majority of VP at the AC CET places, especially at quarters.

FWIW, I believe the NOLA $.25 "My Poker" Jacks are 7/5.

Actually, unlike its LV properties, every AC CET joint has 9-6 in quarters.

Maybe, but not many. Harrahs only had 3 and a post on acvpp said they are reportedly being changed with new machines. Haven't heard if the pays will remain yet. The few that are left at the others are getting old and could use replacement. Majority is 7/5 except Showboat with 8/5.

So the payback drops from 9/6 250 and the var increases I would guess moving to 8/6 275. Question is by how much.

Any decent vp software program will answer that in a snap. However, "back of the envelope" math works nicely here.

The RF in 9/6 JB contributes approx .5% to game return. A payout boost to 275 is a mere 10% addition, or .05% to ER.

The FH and F each contribute approximately 1.1% per coin paid under standard 9/6 JB strategy. So a cut to 8/6 is a (1.1)% reduction.

Net impact of 8/6/275 should yield a return of approx 98.5%.

As far as game variance, because the SF return contribution is rather slight (and the incremental return involved here isn't sufficient to appreciably affect optimal strategy), any increase in variance from the SF pay boost is likely compensated by the reduced variance associated with the FH pay cut.
