Caesars Mis-information and Point Deduction for Rooms

I checked into Caesars on a back to back comp of (2) daily 20K slot tournaments and a 100K giveaway. Although I had called and asked about booking back to back comps and had confirmation numbers I was told at check in that I would have to select one or the other promo but that they would honor the room comp. I was assured that points would not be deducted from my account.

I noticed that my points from Bally's were not showing up when I inserted my card. I went to total rewards, they were not able to help me but told me to come back after 6:00 and speak with Nick, who knows the system better then anyone. When I returned, Nick quickly found my points at Bally's Ac and transferred them so that they could be used at Caesars.

After the second nt, I checked my bill on line and noticed I was being charged 300+ per night for the room. I went down to the front desk and was told that the problem was due to how the reservation was booked and they would resolve it and comp the room.

The next morning, my room balance was 0 but so was my comp balance. Off I went to Total Rewards. After telling me they couldn't see anything and speaking to a supervisor, they finally agreed that the points were deducted for room and there was nothing they could. They suggested that I speak with a host.

So off I went to the host station. This was the fun part.
The host told me that it was now Harrahs policy to deduct TR points for room comps and there was nothing he could do. I mentioned that I had just stayed at Rio and that points were not deducted, that $300+ per night was outrageous and that taking the points I transferred from Bally's wasn't fair. He agreed that the 300+ per night was high and called the front desk to get the rates reduced to a casino rate. He said he was unable to guarantee whether the points would be credited back to my account.

I left the host office and went to a machine to insert my card and guess what, it now showed 68,000 points. Off I went to the front desk to settle my bll with points which now covered all of my food costs.

Had I not read all the info on this sight and stayed on top point balance, I would have ended up with a $600 food bill.

I stayed at the Flamingo at the end of March and had the same
problem. I went in and talked to the host on Saturday night and she
agreed to comp all three nights of my stay. She cleared the first
two nights but Saturday hadn't posted yet. When I went to checkout
on Sunday, the saturday night charges were still on the bill. I went
to the Diamond checkout, explained the problem, and they said they
would take care of it, no problem. A few days after I returned home,
I just happened to check my point balance online and they had
deducted $220 worth of points to cover the last night of room
charges. They did this after agreeing to comp the rooms and never
mentioning that they might use points. The good news is that even
though it took 3 phone calls and two weeks, in the end they fixed
everything. I guess from now on I'll keep a real close eye on those
points.
