Caesars Indiana Trip Report

Made the 5 and a half hour trek from Chicago over the Memorial Day
weekend knowing full well that the former video poker floor was under
construction and closed. My host assured me that there was video
poker on the second deck. He was putting us up for a couple of nights
in a jacuzzi suite so we figured lets give it a shot.
There was sometimes a little wait to find a VP seat at a machine
worth playing during the peak times but there is enough other stuff
to do there if you can't find a seat.First things first though.
Probably 90% of the VP is on the 2nd deck. There is a bank of ten
flat tops mid ship (MD/MG) these all had the 9/6 JoB in .25/.50/$1.
The previous report that the 25 cent 9/6 JoB was MIA is no longer
true. These machines also have 8/5 BP in all three denominations. The
DDB Poker is 9/6 in $.50 and $1 but drops to 8/5 in the 25 cent
version. I believe the DB Poker was 9/7 but don't hold me to that.
To the left from there and at the east end of the boat are two banks
of ten flat tops with the same games and pay tables. Along the east
wall are 14 upright machines that also have the same games and
paytables. I did not get a good look at all of those but the ones I
checked looked ok. There are four Game Makers in the middle of that
row that you should stay clear of. When playing the flat tops at the
east end you need to be especially careful as the lights sometimes
make it dificult to see the screen. This deck has just been remodled
and is beautiful. There are three big screens behind the new bar just
to the right as you walk in. The VP at the bar is ok also but you
need to check first. Most of the bar games did not have 25 cent 9/6
JoB. There is also a nice little Deli at the east end of this deck
called JB's Deli. There is less and less Caesar and more and more
Horseshoe as the conversion is almost complete. The only VP on the
3rd deck is at the bar I believe. Pretty much the same as the rest.
As far as I could see there are no decent Deuces paytables in the
place. High limit area had some $5 and up Illinois Deuces but the
rest of the high limit VP left a lot to be desired. Also on the forth
deck (along with the high limit area)is a bank of $1 progressives.
These are against the wall. 9/7 DB, 9/6 DDB, and 8/5 BP. Sadly the
JoB was 9/5. The games at the bar on deck 4 were just plain bad. The
Diamond lounge now has a few table games in it. Not in action yet as
of this weekend. There is not nearly as much VP there at this time as
there was in the past. They were adding another bank of ten flat tops
on the second floor while we were there. The first deck is supposed
to be completed in mid July. Our host wrote us comps for Legends the
first night and JB's the second night. On top of that, Diamond
players get 2 free buffets every day (before 3pm). Didn't much feel
like eating again after the lunch time buffets but we enjoyed the two
places very much any way. While I grind away at JoB most of the time,
my partner likes to live a little more dangerous. She likes the DDB.
I of course think she's nuts. Her money can disappear in a hurry. She
was living the good life this time as within a short period of time
she got the aces with a deuce, two times playing a dollar machine.
Two tax forms, and she gave the bartender a 20 although she never
ordered a drink. I'm not going to go there though. Bartender was very
happy with it. AS for me, one straight flush,(doesn't pay enough), 8
or 9 sets of quads and down a little bit over all. Always a fun time
down there win or lose. Another tid bit I never knew. My host pointed
out that I had a nice chunk of cash back in my account. He also told
me that after ( I think he said 13 months) the cash back starts
rolling off. The comps go forever as long as you're active but not
the cash back. So keep that in mind all of you total rewards players.
The final day started and ended with our breakfast buffets and then
the promtion for a couple of free deep fryers and then back to
Chicago. Looking forward to coming back in July when we hope the
first deck will be completed. Maybe there will be a promotion for
free stomch pumps. Good Luck,
Rex and I

What kind of action merited this suite ?

There is a bank of ten

So are you saying that there are approx. more than 30 machines
containing these 99% games ?

first night and JB's the second night.

Was the cost of the meal deducted from your RC's ?

Thanks,

Larry,
Yes there are many more than 30 of these 99% games at Caesars
Indiana. This is down from the normal as they are remodeling the old
VP floor.
The buffets for Diamond players are just that. No RC's are deducted
from your account. Nice perk! I suppose the room was comped due to
previous play there. Churchill Downs is just a short drive from there
also. We have always been treated well there going back to our very
first visit. It's a nice trip for us.
