I noticed the same slow rate of machine-accumulated comps at Bally's and
asked my host there. I was given the same confused response - if you have a room
or some sort of RFB your comps accumulate more slowly, since you already are
getting comps in advance. Noticed this too at Caesars.
HOWEVER, I was at Caesars without any room or other offer, and found the
comps accumulated pretty much exactly at the same slow rate! So ???
By the way, despite conflicting statements by different hosts, I was able to
get a host to use discretionary comps to pay for comps without using up my
previously accumulated machine-accumulated comps. Another host had told me
there were no "secret" comps (i.e. for use as discretionary comps) and that all
comps had to be taken from the accumulated ones first.
Also I was told that when Harrah's takes over no one knows what will happen
to accumulated comps - they could vanish.
I was told by one host that comps vanish 1 year after earned; another said
they remain as long as you play every so often (maybe 6 months). I don't know
the truth on this one.
