Cache Creek ("CC") Review

I saw the new CC recently, and things have changed with their new
casino, built from the ground up. While CC isn't as posh as Thunder
Valley, CC is nonetheless very upscaled with nice earthen motif and
wooden accents. The new casino is very spacious compared to the
prior casino.

The VP game selection, practically all IGT machines, is slightly
below average with numerous 9/5 JOB or 8/6 JOB in $0.25 / $0.50 / $1
denominations as well as in triple / five-play machines. The
machines are scatter throughout the casinos so no one should have
problems finding them. I have to say the high limit vp selection at
$5 or $10 is very poor given the 8/5 JOB paytable. I did find two
banks of progressive vp machines, one at $0.25 and one at $1 - it's
a double double bonus game with RF, SF, quad aces with 2/3/4 kicker
being progressive. I saw a new *game idea* that I liked from IGT -
they have a 7/5 JOB game with a 4,000 coin RF (800 for 1) and a
50,000 coin sequential RF (10,000 for 1). 50,000 coins is a big hit
for single line vp, albeit one gives up over 3% in ev from full
house and flush as a trade-off.

I went to the player club to inquire about comps and cash back. No
cash back. Comps, as I understood, is 20 basis point (0.20%) or $1
comp dollar for every $500 of action. I didn't play so I have no
comments about its service or promotions.

My friend and I did have a hard time deciding where to eat and since
I wanted to try the buffet, I treated him. The buffet is not
cheap! The good news is the buffet has lots of great selections
from Chinese (it was amazing!), Italian, and traditional items such
as prime rib, steak (albeit cut into 1/3rd), etc. The desert
selection is equally amazing. If you are a big eater, you will get
your money's worth.

I did find out in the high limit area, there DD for blackjack
players with table mins of $50 or $100. The $2 blackjack tables are
gone as table mins are now $5.

My ranking are:
VP selection: 4*
Comp Dollars: 3
Cash Back: 0
Service: N/A
Promotions: N/A
Tito: Yes.

* It really should be a 3, but with the two banks of progessive,
a "4" is more appropriate. In the past, the $0.25 progressives have
been as high as in the 103% return range.
I didn't bump up the ranking for comp dollars based on the
progressives since the progressive have huge variance and wouldn't
be the comp vehicle I want to employ. Additionally, 20 basis point
for comps is problematic given the resturants and gift shop items
are overpriced.

I've used your comments in the DataBase.

Thanks for the report.
