Bye Bye BConnected and Bye Bye Boyd

Have delayed posting my issues since me return a month ago, during 2.0 transition period. Now a month later, it’s obvious Boyd has heard our complaints and done nothing, it’s time to chat.

Like others, my tier score has been decimated. Over 250k has gone through Boyd vp machines this year. Instead of requalifying Emerald, I will make Sapphire at a tad over 3,000 points. Most interesting part of my trip was the 500$ in free play being locked up because of Aliante’s computer issues. (Point multiplier day was messed up they manually added the points, but it locked my earned cash back up until three days after I left—thank goodness for Rosalie V. at Gold Coast for helping me out). Two royals in a week helped out, so I’m ahead at Gold Coast, but about even company wide). Managed to hit 11x multiplier for 9 days straight, so even under new system got about $600 cash back, would have been double under the system a week before.

So now the repercussions set in. My friend who played keno, was there for 9 days total (compared to 30 for me) has double tier points and better offers going forward (dec 21 shopping spree—I got 50$ free play, he got $150), which is contradictory to what I was told (that coin in, not theoretical, would be used to base offers on). (Anectdotally, I play TB+, best $1 game in house, and 200$ coin in seems to earn a tier point, which, given what I’ve read, makes perfect sense).

So the writing on the wall is complete. If I was a Boyd shareholder (I am not), would be pleased with improvements, since a lot of people I’ve talked to don’t seem to know about the changes, or even care.

But it looks like I won’t be returning, of course. Better alternatives are there, and have already been discussed.

Anyhow it appears Boyd has gotten rid of a lot of unprofitable (or not as profitable as other) players. Good luck to them.

Buh Bye Boyd.

They will also lose lots of Ruby players. How will they fill the rooms…? Sam’s Town and Orleans do not attract the Platinum crowd…

Not good for the stock at all…

GB

They will fill the places with table game and slot players.

HI A P

Maybe? But makes no sense. VP at quarter doesn’t attract “PROS” . Even a pro makes mistakes.

Recreational players good for house. In my case I play “close” to correct in long run. At $! 9/6 JOB house still holds $12.50+ an hour. Low tier players i’d guess up to 2% hold or $25 hour. Every player doesn’t play close to perfect. Many times 4 of us travel together. 2 of the 4 are a slot players. If I don’t go the other 2 follow us. But it’s their joint and they can do what they want. We don’t need them and they don’t need us. We are undesirable players.

$25 an hour hold would be great for me if I had a 10 machine bank of my own. The machines don’t get health insurance, hourly wage, lunch, vacations etc. I’d even cut out .001% for food too.

Here in Pennsylvania BJ tables are jammed. Regular BJ and crazy card games too. Slots customer can’t get one to play, most evenings. They cut vp payback bad. Play is way down… BJ rules better than Strip in Vegas. Give customer a break is good business.

But again, It’s their joint and they will do as they wish…

Cheers…Just one guys opinion

I agree with you, but I don’t think that Boyd does. It looks to me like they want to get rid of video poker players that don’t put through high volumes of money. I can’t even begin to understand how they would ever attract new players with the benefits that a red card player would get.

Thx AP and Whitejeeps

" We don’t need them and they don’t need us. We are undesirable players."

Boyd is going to regret this big time IMO. They have basically kicked out Ruby players and there are many of us. We play quarters and a mix of slots. Look at the crowds at Orleans, Gold Coast, Sams Town. These are not high rollers that are filling the rooms.

Plenty of other places to go now outside of Las Vegas…

Agree 100% 35 yrs ago I had talked to very high up person in Proctor & Gamble. My complaint, I have a small company and I think you only care about big buyers. He, talking to me with respect said following.

We value every customer big or small, as long as they order on a regular basis and pay their bills.

Guess what, Proctor & Gamble Company is still alive and well better than ever. I believe successful businesses always let customer win the little ones. Keep customer. Cost to capture new ones expensive.

Station has discontinued its cash back. Now your points can only be used as comps for food, the gift shop, or maybe rooms.

First they change to up to 6x points and took away points on free play. Now no cash back.

All mp players should boycott Boyd and Stations…

The Boarding Pass official rules on their website still indicated cash back or free play. You’ve heard otherwise?

I checked with the club at the Fiesta Rancho and was told that they would not give cash back any more. someone told me that they played Monday and all their points were only good for comps.

Their computers at Green Valley and Red Rock were down yesterday.

I refuse to play at either Boyd or Station because of these changes.

“Nothing has changed in our offers. Only thing I
can think of is, we did have a companywide system outage yesterday that did
affect cash back and XPC. So a guest might have misunderstood the

Whether the Stations change is true or not, they are likely no better than the new Boyd changes…They all seem hell bent on running off a large portion of their customer base. These actions are going to bite them in the ass…no reason to travel to Vegas anymore…it is sad, but we all must adapt to the changes.

Here’s another twist in the BC saga. This is a promotion that shows in my account for the Blue Chip in Indiana.
“Come in November 1st through December 28th to receive your exclusive Mystery Tier Credit Bonus! Swipe once at any kiosk to see what you have won!”

However, the email promo says to “come in on Nov 7, 14 OR 28 to get your bonus at your favorite casino” with out stating which one… When I hover over the offer in the email, it states the same verbiage as my account offer.

So, again the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is saying.

But it sure looks like they are trying to get around the stupid rules they enacted.

You might try looking at the offer on their app. Mine lists all the Las Vegas BConnected properties. I hope they give me enough points to make Emerald. Otherwise it’s useless, kinda like Total Rewards Tier Credit bonuses when I’m already Seven Stars.

Mine just lists Blue Chip. Living near Chicago it is the Boyd casino I visit most often. I hope people post what they get. Very curious.

I think, sadly, that they will do fine. Offers to slot addicts will increase and they will be as happy as pigs in slop.
