That hardly means the science is junk. Most judges don't know
good science from their assholes. You think "maybe" this judge has a
financial incentive to make a ruling in favor of big tobacco?
They tried to overturn his ruling and couldn't. You must always think and look for the negative.
More importantly, the burden of proof here should not be on proving
2nd hand smoke causes cancer. The burden of proof should be to demonstrate
that it does NOT cause cancer.
Just because the cops arrest someone does not mean their guilty. We are suppose to a nation of laws and innocent until proven guilty and not have the government spying on its citizens. But with Bush in the white house, that may be a thing of the past too.
Finally, let's just use our brains for a second. We already know that
smoking causes cancer for the primary somker. Now, just what kind of magic
do'
you think happens to make that smoke no longer cause cancer when it is
inhaled
by someone else. It is the same f***ing poison either way.
I totally disagree with this statement. Yes, in some people it does cause cancer. Then you have the 80 or 90 year-olds that have been smoking all of their lives. Tobacco is just an easy target. Overcooked meat can cause cancer in some people. To much coffee, with caffeine can cause cancer but has been downplayed and covered up for the obvious reasons. There are more things that can cause cancer but it gets ridiculous. Everything today is suspect. Driving or riding in a car can kill you. Lets ban it. It will never end. U.S. soldiers and sailors aboard ship or overseas pay no state OR federal tax on tobacco products. They also pay no state taxes on tobacco sold on base in the U.S. And yet, Playboy Magazine is banned in PX's and Exchanges. Why?
It is not holier than thou. I could care less if you smoke, just
keep it away from others. That really is not asking so much.
