Is there an army of button slappers out there or am I just running into a few
a lot?

From a post I made in December on the odd habits of VP (and slot)
players:
.Slapping or pounding the keys (wayyy too common, as you note).
.Playing so fast that obvious mistakes are made.
.Sloooooow play, usually by a newbie or someone waiting for others.
.Waving one's hands at or rubbing the screen, usually on a 4 to the
royal or three to a high playing four of a kind. Rubbing the screen
does weird things to touch screens.
.Trying to be "at one" with the machine, often includes leaning on the
machine. Usually happens with uprights.
.Use of the coin tray as an ashtray (ick).
.Play of a few coins on one machine, then moving on to the next
machine where the same is done, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

There are way to many button slappers out there. It drives me
nuts...after awhile I move if they don't.

When I encounter such a person, I light up a big cigar and hope what
I ate at my last meal gives me gas....... Problem solved.

I wouldn't want to be within 20 feet of a lit cigar. Most of them stink worse than farts. But that's why God made those nice fans you can buy in WalMart for five bucks.

Although it doesn't bother me I've found myself conscious of how I play. I don't slap them hard but about half of my hits make a small noise because if I press them gently I have to slow down my play. I don't think I'm an offender in this regard, at least I hope I'm not, but if it comes to a choice between trying not to bother fellow players and slowing down, well.....

Brad is a button slapper and has been ever since he started playing VP a thousand years ago. If anyone can influence him to stop by using any method, I give you full permission. But I warn you, I tried every persuasion method short of withholding sexual favors and none have even phased him, much less got him to stop. He even uses a very sexist (not sexual) name for this: bitch-slapping. He needs to be seriously educated in politically-correct speech - but he may be too old to change. Actually he loves women - he just thinks the expression is funny and that everyone will understand that he is not putting down women. Maybe if every woman that sees him, beats him on the head with a coin cup full of coins - this would help?

lol.
God made both, and gave us free will. The devil is the one sitting there
with the cigar AND the fan.

Actually, tobacco is the Indians' revenge on the Europeans. The Indians introduced tobacco to the settlers so they could go kill themselves with it.
