Business trip but already comped R and some F at that hotel - ev strategies?

I'm going on a business trip so work is buying. But, I'm already room
comped and small amount of food comped at that hotel and don't really
want to have to play to my average daily play - and may not even have
time to.

I figured I'd just stay somewhere I'm not known at and not play much -
anybody have and better strategies for this? It seems like the best of
both worlds - work AND the hotel want to pay my bill, but also the
worst of both worlds - it might hurt future comps.

Thanks for any thoughts - and I know, it doesn't sound like a situation
that garners much sympathy

It seems to me that if you are a hotel guest and not a casino guest
(i.e. have a travel agent or an assistant make your reservations and
don't arrange through the player's club), then light play won't hurt
you at a place where they comp your rooms and a "small amount" of
food. Depends on which hotel it is, though. Harrah's decreases your
theo with light play or play spread out among the many venues. If you
are really concerned that it will hurt your comp status, reserve your
play for a new casino.

If you don't have to rely upon a room comp then I wouldn't. In that
case, as a cash guest, the decision of where to stay and where to play
are entirely independent of each other.

As a paying guest, your stay doesn't impact your casino rating
whatsoever ... so, stay wherever you wish.

As far as play, if you're considering a casino where trip average is a
factor, don't play anywhere in which your intended play would weaken
your established average. And, of course, that's not a concern when
playing anywhere that trip average isn't a consideration.
