As earlier noted the Official Rules for the current Palms drawing make no mention of a card swipe being required the day of each drawing to activate earned entries. Tonight I arrived for the first drawing ten minutes prior to the drawing since there was no 15 minute pre-drawing swipe required. When I arrived there was a line at the kiosks. I assumed people were just activating their one free daily entry since it was less then 15 minutes to the drawing but at the Palms you should never assume anything. I asked one of the attendants if a daily swipe is still required to activate earned entries for the drawing even though it is no longer mentioned in the rules. She said she did not know so she went and asked a supervisor. She returned and told me a daily swipe is still required. I was lucky to get my swipe in since they left the kiosks operational until about five minutes before the drawing. They made no overhead announcement stating there was an omission in the rules so anyone new to the Palms would have absolutely no idea that they were not in the drawing if they had only played and not swiped their card.
I truly have no idea if the daily swipe is required or if the attendants and supervisors just have not been notified of the change. The kiosk terminals still state that entries must be activated on each drawing day but the management may just have neglected to update the screen format. If anyone won in the drawing tonight without swiping I would be interested to hear. I'm just surprised how unclear their procedures are and no one seems concerned.
