Brief report on new Valley Forge Casino

*Just one point of view*

   - *How new: opened around same time as Revel.*
   - *Accommodations: There are two sections: casino hotel and Radisson.
They are connected, but it is a loooong walk to the Radisson. Supposedly
casino rooms are not as nice as Rad, but to me the Rad room was close to
   primitive, though clean.*
   - *Pool: yes, Rad, pleasant and good size, but more or less surrounded
   by parking lots.*
   - *Check-in: took 45 minutes! My host claims they are working on having
   a VIP check-in.*
   - *Restaurants: good selection.*
   - *Host: terrific.*
   - *Offer: freeplay and hotel dollars. I managed to use my freeplay only
and came home winning. Used hotel dollars for terrific steak at
steak-house, though service was extreeeemely slow due to large crowd. I
already have another offer for freeplay, higher than the first, and my host
will upgrade my card to elite, and comp further hotel dollars to compensate
for the service wait I encountered. They're trying.*
   - *I'm hoping others can comment with further knowledge of this, but:
you have to pay to lose your money. $10 each visit, $70 per year (my host
waives the fee for me). This is closely enforced, with turnstiles, guards,
etc. Not sure whom they want to keep out, but it was nice not to have
non-gambling-free-drinks groups hanging around. Perhaps some sort of
mandate from PA that it has to be a 'private club'? Hopefully, it's not
elitist or there would have been a huge brouhaha, I would think.*
   - *Gaming floor: small, bright, clean.*
   - *Playable VP: none that I saw, though I didn't check every game at
every denom; 8/5 JoB. There are only 24 vp machines: 18 single play,
   multi-denom. 4 3/5/10 play, multi-denom. 2 Super Pay, 3/5/10, multi-denom.
The only upside for quarter+ players is that there are no less than quarter
denoms, so no nicklers tying up the machines. Even though it was crowded,
the multi-play machines were always available. (The hit that put me ahead
for the night was on Super-Pay: Double Double Bonus, one fours 4k, one
fours 4k with kicker, 8X multiplier, quarters. They ask if you want to have
   taxes taken out.)*
   - *Drinks: free.*
   - *Points: I earned 101 points, but I forgot to ask how many through-put
   dollars = 1 point. I played quite a bit. 1 point = 1 hotel reward dollar.

···

*
   - *Other: only 20 minutes from Philly and 20 minutes from Longwood
Gardens. Near highways for easy access.*
   - *Because of connection with Radisson, there are very large groups
(weddings, etc.) that can tie up all the lines and wait-times.*
