Brief note from the front lines

So, I'm here for Scrabble tournament atthe Nugget in Sparks.
Staying at Silver Legacy.

I get 2 hrs a day at Nugget of VP, 7 hrs is Scrabble <my brain DOES
hurt, yes>. I found NSUD, JoB and 9/6 DDB and that's what I play.

Evenings 3-4 hrs at SIlver. There are changes here. The Joker wild is
upstairs in the south mezzanine now. 10-7 DB is still on them too. They
moved the Keno lounge up there too, due to remodel activity in the old
zone SW quadrant first floor. Bar going in. Trendy like the DRINKS
place up across from Sterling.BIG problem yesterdy, tody and Monday-
these machines are all hand pay t due to some error the technicicains
are too busy to fix!!! All payouts are no ticket- handpay only. Tht
means I don't play 'em. What a pain!

FPDW unchanged. I found NSUD (!) at two banks of 10 in NW quadrant of
1st floor and two lone machines in S. mezz near the JW. Also, a game
called DDB PLUS is now widespread. same as 9/6 paytable, added 80-1
payoff for quad 5-K with an ACE kicker. will look up the EV increase,
unless someone wants to spoonfeed it to me.

Progs: $1 DDB N. bank $5110, S. bank of 10: reset $4100-ish, someone
musta hit it for about $4500. I hit a $1183 prog on 25c DDB in the NW
quadrant on my first day last Thurs. I'm here til Wed. Unfortunately I
haven't hung onto that big pot, but I'm only down $500 after for days
of intermittent gaming. Only other highlights for jackpots are $400 for
quad 4s on $1 DDB (after only 5 min) and back to back quad 2s on 25c
DDB, holding two each time, the 2nd one had a kicker for a speedy up
$300.

Proper trip report when I get back.

If any of youse are here now, drop me a note, maybe a cocktail is in
order.

Cheers,

Thanks, Mark. I'll be at Silver Legacy next weekend (Blues, Brews,
and Bar-B-Q) and I was thinking of playing some Jokers wild. I'm not
sure which way South is... is there a landmark that'd help me find
them? (e.g. are they close to Circus or to El D?)

I'm assuming that both JW and DB are for quarters only, right? Last
time, on the 1st floor machines near the women's bathroom, I found
NSUD in up to $s. Are the 2nd floor NSUD quarters or dollars?

Thanks for the info. As long as SL keeps those wonderful 50/100-play
JOB+ machines outside of High Limit, I'm a fan.

(I never reported... over Memorial Day, when I did the free "pick 10
numbers" promo at Silver Legacy, I won 30 seconds in the "Greenback
Gazebo," that glass thing with the money flying around and you grab
what you can. It was mostly $1 bills, so I only got $50, which I
think was better than most people do. Quite a funny experience,
though.)

Me too. It appears SL has increased the chances of getting a ticket
to the GG as I saw it in use for the first time. You get a minimum of
$30 no matter how you do so no need to scramble after all the dollar
bills: take your time and try to find the rare fives, tens, and
twenties. And, you get a photograph of yourself to proudly display on
the refrigerator door ("Look kids, the old man's getting rich.")

If you score over 5500 in the slot tournament you get a coupon for 5
comp dollars. 5523 for me ... Ka Ching!
