Boyd Gaming Press Release

BOYD GAMING'S 'B CONNECTED' PLAYERS CLUB GOES NATIONWIDE

-- Casinos Giving Away Millions to Celebrate Rollout --

LAS VEGAS - JUNE 28, 2010 - Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE:
BYD) today announced it is launching an enhanced,
multi-property player loyalty program under the nationwide
brand "B Connected" - and celebrating with a giveaway of up
to $3.75 million in slot dollars during the first week of
July.

The B Connected brand is replacing the "Club Coast" name
previously used in Las Vegas at Gold Coast, Suncoast, Sam's
Town and The Orleans. Customers of these properties will
keep all earned benefits and club points they've previously
earned under the program. In addition, all members will
enjoy new enhancements to the B Connected club:

* Members will now have six months to qualify for a
promotion to "Sapphire" or "Emerald" level, up from three
months under Club Coast;

* Reel slot machine players will receive double credit
toward their card score, used to determine a promotion to
Sapphire or Emerald level. Table games players will receive
accelerated credits as well;

* Members will enjoy several additional new benefits,
including priority slot service, advance purchase of show
tickets, and special gifts upon achieving Sapphire and
Emerald level.

Paul Chakmak, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer of Boyd Gaming, said, "Given the nationwide
popularity of our player loyalty program, we're excited to
unite our properties under the B Connected brand. With a
single brand and more consistent rules, customers will find
it easier than ever to reap the benefits of the B Connected
program."

In recognition of B Connected's debut, Gold Coast, Suncoast,
Sam's Town and The Orleans will each be giving away up to
$250,000 in slot dollars on July 4, while Boyd Gaming's
three downtown Las Vegas properties (Main Street Station,
Fremont and the California) will be giving away an
additional $250,000. To participate, members simply need to
visit the B Connected booth at their favorite casino on July
4 to see if they're a winner. Each Las Vegas winner will
receive $500 in slot dollars, which will be automatically
credited to their B Connected account.

Five Boyd Gaming properties in the Midwest and South will
also be giving away slot dollars in early July: Sam's Town
Shreveport (July 1), Blue Chip (July 2), and Sam's Town
Tunica, Delta Downs and Treasure Chest (July 5).

B Connected membership is free and available at 13 Boyd
Gaming properties: Gold Coast, The Orleans, Sam's Town,
Suncoast, California, Fremont and Main Street Station in Las
Vegas; Blue Chip in Michigan City, Indiana; Par-A-Dice in
East Peoria, Illinois; Sam's Town in Tunica, Mississippi;
Treasure Chest in Kenner, Louisiana; Delta Downs in Vinton,
Louisiana; and Sam's Town in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Membership in B Connected is available only to persons 21
and older. For more information, visit
www.bconnectedonline.com.

It's not really "nationwide" if they don't include east of the Delaware River.

Some key observations...

This is my first look at the new program so I'm probably way behind some of you, correct me and add to this please.

#1 It appears the downtown Las Vegas and the "Locals" casinos systems are now the same. Previously it was easier to earn levels at locals casinos, but you had to earn every 3 months. Downtown, as an out-of-state player I think you had a year to earn the tier, and you kept it for 12 months once it was earned (within which time you had to earn it again). Now both are earned over 6 months, which makes me wonder when they expire and how often a person must re-qualify? Do you keep the tier level for 6 months in both cases?

#2 A big consideration for traveling players: Unless something has changed, your path to the next tier is linked to your "home casino" regardless of where you earn the points. The tier programs in the Midwest/South differ from Las Vegas. If Sam's Town Tunica (for example) is your home casino you need 100,000 for Sapphire. If Gold Coast is your home casino you only need 30,000 for Sapphire. In both cases you need 250,000 for Emerald, which is a change from before. I can't recall the old rates but it previously took more points for Emerald in the Midwest/South than in Las Vegas.

I'm not sure if this situation is better or worse than before, but it's different!

Ok, I'll answer one of my own questions. I found that in Tunica, MS 40 cents coin in = 1 point, but in Las Vegas it takes $1 coin in to equal one point "card score". It's 50 cents per point at Blue Chip in Michigan, and 60 cents at Par-A-Dice. Interesting.

Mac

Boyd and MGM are co-owners of the Borgata. MGM is selling but last I heard Boyd isn't exercising its right of first refusal. If Boyd ever owns 100% then presumably Borgata would be 'B CONNECTED' too.
