I deemed that you've thrown in the towel inasmuch as I don't quite
grasp how continuing to play at a casino that has devastated it's FPDW
inventory has a chance at influencing them to restore it.

One item that seems to be overlooked in all this boycotting talk is that some of us do not play FPDW. Some of us find the game totally boring, a waste of time, and don't play it. We do play FPDB and they still have those in .25 & .50. The bar at Suncoast is a very confortable place for me. The chairs are nice and the bartenders are friendly and attentive, so why should I boycott? As far as I'm concerned, nothing has changed for me and other customers that I have talked to about it. I don't plan on moving until, when or if, the next shoe drops.

Ok, I grasp what you're saying. But I wouldn't consider those $.50
10/7 DB too safe. If I understand correctly, they've already
decimated $1 and above. Do the math on those $.50 centers. With
cashback, the hold in absolute dollars on those machines isn't
appreciably less than the hold on the $.25 FPDW.

Wait until those disappear and then walk to send a message? Just how
many are going to walk out with you then?

But rest assured that the $.25 FPDB are pretty safe. They have to
have something around to tout as great machines, no?

Look, the fact is that I feel pretty much like a lame 60's protester
who's ready to lie down in the parking lot in front of their shuttle
bus. I think damned few are likely to walk unless it's in search of
better plays elsewhere. That's simply the reality of it.

But I don't think there was much of any other alternative by which to
attempt to express a voice in the matter. And I do feel that in
sufficient numbers it definitely could have an impact.

I'm hardly the person to make that call from my perch here 2500 miles
away. But I'm concerned nonetheless because I think if the cuts are
successfully executed without damaging business, other LV properties
will pick up on the cue. Unable to actually "walk", I've taken what
measures are available to me. I imagine it's time to step off this
soapbox, however.

I think you're right in that they are safe, except maybe for some little weasel in middle-mgmt. at one or more casinos who might be able to exercise some misguided power now and then. At the same time, however, how many players will really stop playing if FPDW were no longer available anywhere in Nevada? I'm betting none, and I believe casinos are betting the same. Players will simply find another game, squeeze as much EV out of it that they can, and hope the interim will find their favorite machines coming back once again--which from a historical viewpoint/for competitive reasons usually do. It's a typical business cycle in a hot market such as gaming. No one's chasing players who believe they have an edge. It's the overall picture the casinos look at. And casinos are nothing more than people making good or bad decisions. Few casinos are run well. If well were the norm, then wouldn't you think the STRIP hotels would try to draw locals in with better pay tables? I'm always shaking my head at the continuous missed opportunities the resorts pass up. It's like they don't read the papers.

If you feel that strongly about a harmless subject as this, who could argue? It's the other protesters out there today that make me want to get my hands on the sterring wheel of a bus.
